Infact I will go on to say that the pressure to deliver must have been greater for Danish since comparisons with Sultan were inevitable. But just as you said he put in the efforts in order to bring a difference in his performance as Shahzaib starting from the appearance to his expressions. It is because of him that,we as the audience,ended up feeling for Shahzaib.
Minal,on the other hand,did not move a single facial muscle due to which even the scenes in which we are supposed to sympathise with Isra felt bland and dull. Her sister could have done a far better job 😆
If she really let trivial insecurities come in between an equation that went long back then it is a pity. Connections can prove to be useful in every field which is why one must attempt to remain cordial,at the very least, if not friendly.
Absolutely. Sultan and Shahzaib would've both been very 2D characters had it not been for Danish. In fact, Muneeb is playing a role similar to Sultan's in Baddua, but he falls flat. It was Danish who adds something extra to all his characters.
Even if we got back to his full on villain avatar, Jaan-E-Alam, he made the guy super scary. And you know what the scary part was, Alam never resorted to violence himself. He didn't do the dirty work. One would think he'd raise his hand and physically hurt Mariam but no, he got married to her, slept with her, sl*t-shamed her and divorced her on the day of their Walima. He also dated and seduced Noor-U-Saba, used her for his pleasure and when she got pregnant and pressurised for marriage, he manipulated the situation into getting her to abort the baby and then dumped her.
That is so much more dangerous because this kind of scarring and trauma never goes away. And it could've easily fallen flat because Alam's wickedness was in his expressions and attitude, and the way he would manipulate everyone around him. Danish did such a brilliant job in that show, that I genuinely was terrified of him and hated him for a while 😆 Although Alam too was incredibly hot ☺️🤣
Talking about the same show, Sanam had a very bechara role too, but look at the way she acted. You would feel complete sympathy and remorse for her, and both of them acting so well that the push-pull was worth watching. Additionally, they had such great chemistry in those few romantic scenes, that you'd hate yourself for shipping Alam with Maryam, wanting a happy ending for him.
The teasers of Ishq Hai did lead to those comparisons. The gun scene and Shahzaib's maniac smile at the end reminded everyone of Sultan. In fact there were so many saying he's doing the same thing. But it wasn't the same at all. Danish changed his appearance, made himself look older, and there was literally no visible signs of Sultan on his face and body. In fact I didn't see even a glimpse of Sultan when Shahzaib was on screen.

If you cannot perform, then at least don't behave in such a silly way. Instead, try harder. And stop comparing yourself to someone who's been in the field longer than you have. One argument can be that Minal has also been around for 10 years, but there is a difference between being a child artist and an adult in leading roles. Despite her experience, we didn't feel for Isra, especially when we should have.
