A new historical show based upon the evergreen love story of Salim and Anarkali is all set to launch on the small screen.
The name of the show is not yet finalized but the tentative name is Salim Anarkali', as per sources.
Rishi Saxena, the chocolate boy of Marathi TV industry, is all set to make his debut into the Hindi television industry through this show. The actor will be playing a character with negative shades in this upcoming show.
Talking exclusively to TimesofIndia.com, Rishi said, "I am essaying the character of Danial who is the step-brother of Salim. It's my first time to play a baddie onscreen and so I am very excited to portray this role.
Rishi has previously essayed the lead character in the popular Marathi TV show Kahe Diya Pardes'. Being a Non-Maharashtrian, it initially was difficult for him to play the lead in a Marathi TV show.
Talking more about the show, he revealed that
ShaheerSheikh has been finalized to play Salim and
SonarikaBhadoria as Anarkali. Actress Gurdip Punjj has been roped in to play Shaheer's on-screen mother 'Queen Jodha' whereas the makers have got on board actor Shahbaz Khan to play the role of 'Emperor Akbar'.
Also according to the sources, this upcoming show will go on-air in August and the opening will showcase the childhood of Anarkali and Salim.
