Ekta Kapoor's remake of Kasautii Zindagi Kay has created a lot of buzz!
The earlier cast comprised Shweta Tiwari, Czanne Khan, Ronit Roy, and Urvashi Dholakia.
The hunt for a stellar new cast has already begun. Recently, Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke actress Erica Fernandes confirmed that she would be a part of the show. While Barun Sobti and Ssharad Malhotra are touted to be contenders for the titular role of Anurag Basu, looks like we will still have to wait for the final name.
We also heard that Kishwer Merchantt has been cast to play a significant character in the show.
We called Kishwer to confirm, but she denied the news stating, No. I have not been approached for the Kasautii remake.'

After Erica Fernandes was confirmed as the female lead of Kasautii Zindagii Kay', rumours are rife that Barun Sobti could be stepping into the role of Anurag Basu.
Rumours have been doing the rounds of a number of stars including Mohit Raina and Angad Bedi being lured for the part but they've denied the speculation. Earlier, Shaheer Sheikh's name was also linked to the project but he is occupied with the TV remake of Mughal-e-Azam'. The other name being chucked around is Ssharad Malhotra, who has just finished work on Kasam' on Colors.
Sobti starred in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon 3' last, which underperformed in ratings on Star Plus.
