In the world of TV serials all that matters are ratings and that's why most shows start off as something but end up becoming something else altogether. That's what is happening with Star Plus show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon 3. The show that began as an intense love story is all set to become a Saas Bahu drama with kitchen politics as main theme to garner more ratings. Despite the presence of TV heartthrob Barun Sobti and a huge production value the show is not able to perform well on the ratings front. That had led to a lot of pressure on the creative team from the channel. This has led to the creative team making a lot of changes in the story, look and feel of the characters. The maximum pressure is on leading lady, Shivani Tomar, who is getting a lot of hate mail for poor acting. The budget for the show has also been cut and a new set for Advay's family has now been set up in the far away distant suburb of Mumbai where the costs are lesser. So, the Film City set will be used less and this set of Advay's family will be used more. The costumes were panned from day one. Shivani's boho-chic look will now give way to a more modern one. The costumes of actors like Ritu Shivpuri, Ketaki Kasam and Seema Azmi s have also been toned down. Advay's family has been introduced and there will be more focus on them now. Recently, the show saw the entry of faces like Ritu Chaudhary, Charu Rohatgi and Rishika Mihani as Arnav's new family. We will see Shivani aka Chandni's struggles with her in-laws. Ritu Chaudhary plays Arnav's mausi who is like a mother to her. She hates Chandni and will make sure that Chandni is never happy. We will see kitchen politics along with the intense love story angle. Charu Rohatagi as Advay's Nani plays a positive character. She will be Chandni's main support system. Ritu Shivpuri and her daughters' track will get sidelined for a while.

In order to get ratings, most TV shows resort to kitchen politics. That's the reason why shows like Saath Nibhana Saathiya and Sasuraal Simar Ka sustained for years. Makers will hope this changes the TRP fortunes of the show.
