TAM set to exit TV ratings business this month

TAM India has confirmed its exit from the TV ratings business from later this month.

The company will team-up with BARC India for meter management, which will be known as Meterology Data Pvt Ltd (MDL). It has been effective from today and will commence operations by the end of this month. TAM India meters will be re-deployed in panel homes selected by BARC India. This venture will help grow BARC India's sample size. BARC India will have a majority stake in the joint-venture.

With this change, BARC India will be the single provider of television audience data. TAM India will report its last data on 29th February 2016.

TAM Media Research CEO LV Krishnan said, "I am very happy to see that the JV has finally taken shape. What is even more heartening is that TAM India's current 12,000 meters, which was built and constructed tirelessly over the last fifteen years will get combined to give BARC India a larger and robust TV panel sample base for the Industry. We will do our best in providing our expertise to MDL. Meanwhile, TAM India will continue focusing its efforts towards value adding the Industry through constant enhancements of its existing businesses."

"The Industry was eagerly waiting for this merger to be completed from the time we announced it in August last year. We are happy to state that the Joint Venture Company is complete and all set to kick-off operations," said BARC India CEO Partho Dasgupta.

"We will work closely with BARC to ensure a good outcome for the industry and our joint clients. We have worked productively with BARC to get here and under the circumstances, have agreed a good way forward for everyone concerned," added Kantar CEO Eric Salama.

"We are happy to collaborate with BARC India. The coming together of BARC India and TAM India has only strengthened the Indian broadcast industry, as they will now be getting viewership trends from a larger panel size," informed Nielsen MD Prashant Singh.

Throw Back- Khuda Jaane Sequence of Miley Jab Hum Tum

Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Mein Khayal aata hai to watch all previous shows and gush in a day. But that isn't possible for sure as real life but well we at Telly Tadka give you a chance to gush one particular scene from your favorite show that is over now.

Valentine's Day is coming and well let's be honest February is all about love. Not just the real life even our TV screens have had the most wonderful and romantic celebration on love.

With love being mentioned let me quote Mr. Rahul Khanna (Kuch Kuch Hota Hai) "Pyaar Dosti hai"

We have had many couples in the past that started their friendship and progressed with love. But there was one Jodi who went totally non clichd as they started friendship on the day of love.

Yes you got that right. We are talking about Samrat and Gunjan and their first valentines day. The first time ever when we saw Samrat's affection towards Gunjan because he ate good amount of green chilies just for her. That says it all.

Let's celebrate the Khuda Jaane sequence

Samrat had always been a lonely boy since a childhood but for the first time he had the strong urge to befriend this girl. He wanted her trust. He wanted her friendship. He yearned for that care from Gunjan as he wanted all her attention. He had bowed down to her for her forgive and to gain back that trust which she did once.

And finally Gunjan had agreed. She had seen that Samrat was not the same with everyone but something was special; the bond between them was unique. He had nothing to do with anyone out there but if the talks concerned Gunjan Samrat would make sure to be a prompt listener. Not just that Samrat's talks only were all about Gunjan.

Little did both of them realize that they were becoming each other's habit? Not much did they know ever that they were falling in love, slowly but for eternity.

But sigh it wasn't about love then. It was friendship, purely friendship.

But strange it was really very strange that both of them followed the others foot step and were learning in this process. They had not just learned about each other but rediscovered their own self. Samrat saw a new side of his caring and affectionate nature with Gunjan. There was simply no need for him to be the cool dude of the college in front of her where Gunjan on the other hand found confidence in his presence.

And the best part both of them just did not know that this valentine was really special. Not because it was another day to love but because they were heading towards love after all their relation had everything yet no complaints or demand. They wanted each other's trust and presence and unknowingly they headed towards a path of love. Little did they realize though that this was a path everyone travelled frequently, it was a start towards new journey of love. Rather to their journey of love.
