you might be looking for some cool and easy ways to transform your lovely homes into an e e r i e, s p i n e - c h i l l i n g lair!

Here are some tips and tricks you can use to change your house into a
b e w i t c h e d d e n!

When you think of Halloween, the first thing that comes into your mind is a pumpkin, isn't it?
With a slight touch of imagination and a drop of patience,
you can create your own unique and spectacular carved pumpkins !
Use a knife to carve the shapes on the pumpkins and then light a lantern or a bunch of candles inside them so that you get a glowing, scintillating effect.

To decorate your dining rooms, a pivotal role is played by the colors that you use, orange and black are a must choice as they are considered to be the Halloween colours. The table must look terrifying. Load it with self-made cobwebs, fake spiders, skeleton masks and Halloween-themed dining cloth. Play with the lighting of the room, using candles and lanterns. Tada! You're ready to scare away all your friends! 😆

If you want to bring something truly horrific to your homes, you cannot restrict yourself to lighting just a few candles and leaving some pumpkins here and there. You have to turn your house into a scary dungeon, sending chills down every visitor's spine. In order to truly scare your friends, add tit-bits of fearsome detailing at the places they would least expect: leave a trace of blood on the bathroom mirror (Imagine the shrieks you'll hear when they see their names in blood on the mirror 😆 ), add bloody footsteps every other corner. You can augment it by decorating your bathroom in a frightening way, say, by recreating a scene from the movie Psycho!

Do you want to turn your garden into a spooktacular cemetery!?What's better than to add a line of tombstones engraved with your visitor's names! Also near the tombstones, leave a stained gauze using a red dye, lanterns and other eerie items that come to your mind.

Still aren't satisfied? You want to scare them for life? A way is to give them a mini heart-attack by placing scare crows in your garden, or skeleton bones scattered here and there. (Make sure you have an ambulance ready, just in case 😆 )
Even better, ask one of your friends to dress up as a scare crow, asking them to jump on the guests when they are least expecting it and send a jolt of panic in their hearts.

Not just the g h o s t s and g o b l i n s , but also there are other things that make you f r e t during the Halloween Season - the unanswered questions h o v e r i n g around your head...

"What do I dress up as?"

"Should I go bold or simple?"

"Which lipstick should I use- the red one or the black one?"

We like you all too much to let you die of a p a n i c attack. So take a deep breath and say goodbye to your worries. Here are some mind blowing costumes you can dress up in without emptying your pockets!

It is time for a Fang-Tastic Make-over!

:: t h e e e r i e f o r t u n e t e l l e r ::

If you are someone who doesn't like to p a i n t your face to appear scary ( You don't want to end up looking like a clown! ), then this is the perfect choice for you. Dress up as an enigmatic fortune teller by placing a dark colored turban on your head. You can even drape a black stole around your head instead. Pair them up with large, ethnic ear-rings and funky chains around your neck. As a finishing touch, take a crystal ball in your hand or a couple of tarot cards would do the t r i c k . Since you are a tarot carder now, you are officially allowed to tell your friends they are going to die on the 31st December or the day after tomorrow. 😆 ( Disclaimer - We are not liable to anything that happens to you after that 😆 )

:: t h e m u m m y ::

Take some old, dirty w h i t e clothes and cut them up in long stripes. Drape them around your body over a white t-shirt and white pants. You're done. E a s y P e e z y, isn't it? If you are an enthusiastic experimenter (just a fancy way to say you are a freak 😆), you can even paint your face a light shade of white or paste the left over white cloth on your face using a skin-friendly glue. Go watch Mummy Returns for inspiration and you're all set to drive your peers away from this planet itself! 😆

:: t h e b a t w o m a n ::

Tiny h o r n s on your head coupled with an all-black get-up and you're ready to become a cool Halloween figure. For the wings, you can ct up an old, black u m b r e l l a and attach them to your back. Are you ready to become the talk of the town?

Your body is all dressed up. It's the turn of your face.

MAKE-UP

:: t h e s a s s y s p i r i t ::

Tired of dressing up as a clown? A freak? Do you just want to look sexy in that cute orange dress you bought yesterday? Go wear that lady! The key is to play with your m a k e - u p . Try a bold orange shade coupled with an extravagant eye make-up. Your eye-lids are your c a n v a s e s for today! Go paint all you want ( We hope you are good artists, otherwise, god save you 😆 )

Dark, kohl eyes and a sassy smile, you are perfect to go. 😳

:: t h e w i c k e d w i t c h::

You can d y e your hair a darker shade of red to set up the field and then move on to a bolder red lipstick and a reddish black gradient eye shadow. Use dark reddish tinged lenses.

G o B o l d ! G o B e a u t i f u l !

:: s p i n e - c h i l l i n g s k e l e t o n ::

Just getting a skeleton costume isn't enough. 'S k e l e t o n i n g' up your face is equally important. Paint your face by drawing a huge oval or any custom shape around your eyes in black. You can further raise the bar by painting long black stripes on y o u r l i p s or branches growing out of the tips of your lips.

Are you scared yet?

Final Draft - Post 2

What is described as the festival of the dead, is actually a blend of celebrations marking various things. The spell of the coming winter months, conclusion of the growing season and an interesting mixture of various folk traditions and myths and the age old tale told of the day about the day when the thin and transparent veil between the living and dead would lift and the ghosts of the deceased along the creatures of the dark would walk among the living. It's the day of October 31st, "Halloween".

Abbreviated from "All Hallows Eve," a traditional name for the Catholic holiday of "All Saints' Day", things like carved pumpkins, costumes, trick or treat, weren't the things that described Halloween. It's because of the Celtic holiday of Samhain, "The Holy Evening", or "All Saint's Eve" which was celebrated only to remember the deceased. Based on the belief that on this day the spirits of the people who died over the course of the year come back to revisit their homes. Candles and bonfires were lit to pray for the good of the souls, as the flames, the smoke so emitted was deemed to have powers that would protect people from the bad souls.

A fusion of old Celtic Harvest festivals of Ireland, and Christian practices, the festival has its roots traced back to 16th century. It became popular only by the first decade of 20th century. It were the European immigrants who brought in the tradition of dressing up in scary costumes while the tradition of "trick-or-treat" was added to it by the Irish to celebrate their escape from the Potato Famine.

Following are some really amazing and very interesting facts about Halloween that mades up the essence of the Halloween, as we know it today.

#1 > One? No not one. Neither two, nor three, Halloween is a combination of four traditions namely, "Roman Feralia Festival", commemorating the dead, second; the festival of honouring the goddess of fruits and tree, i.e. "The Roman Pomona Festival", third; "All Saint's Eve" and fourth; "The cEltic Festival Samuin".

#2> Jack-o'-lanterns were once made out of turnips, beets and potatoes -- not pumpkins. Candles were placed inside them, and they were meant to prevent the evil spirits entering.

#3 > According to legend, if you see a spider on Halloween, it's actually the spirit of a loved one watching over you!

#4> Many shelters don't allow black cats to be adopted around Halloween for the fear they may be tortured or sacrificed!

Post #7

Dark, addictive, m y s t e r i o u s, exciting, s p o o k y, seductive, magical ... How many more adjectives could be added to define Halloween day?

One thing is certain, the Halloween spirit is c o n t a g i o u s. Perhaps this is why today the Halloween party is one of the most heartfelt and celebrated night throughout the world.

The Halloween t r a d i t i o n has been passed on through centuries, overcoming borders, oceans and historical periods to come to this day. Disguises of terror, creepy masks, delicious sweets and carved pumpkins are just some of the elements of this special day.

Everyone knows about Halloween, but very few people are aware about the t r u e o r i g i n s of this ancient festival. Over time traditions have evolved greatly. But the pristine spirit still remains, an amalgam of awe and fear of the supernatural and all that we do not know of!

But what is Halloween truly about and what is its origin? Let us find out together!
