SEZ:

Yes, it is a thoroughly spiritual fictional show, which cannot be bracketed into any average fictional show, be it of any language or any country.
You try to understand it from a general perspective of regular fiction, you may not be able to like it.

My understanding of the show is completely on spiritual terms, and below is my take on same.

The show is about the spiritual journey of the this girl Falak., in which "God" plays a very important role.

As all of you who have watched / watching know, the personality of Falak.
To brief, though good at heart, she is a self centered , spoilt rich, obsessive girl with possessive traits.
She is indifferent to pain of fellow human beings., for her e/thing is given on a silver platter, she feels it is what she / family has earned.

She does not have any sort of relationship with God , as in the idea that he holds ultimate power is immaterial to her. She never thanked him for what he has given her
Her Naani tries to remind / alert her., that if she gets to enjoy some things, its not becoz on her own merit but God has endowed her with those., so while enjoying same, be Thankful to him., by keeping him in your mind and thru' prayers .
Yet, she never ever cared.

She never gave any heed to such advise, she felt with her looks and money, she can possess any thing she wishes / wants to.

As she is a sculptor, she chances upon to create a sculpture. She feels its a perfect' creation.
Soon, she finds a person who resembles same ( Salman ) and inadvertently fall in love with that person. He is her dream come true.
Yet she gets to know, he does not care for her a bit. But she is of a possessive nature, she begins to obsess over him., confident that she can definitely make him fall in love with her., after all she is considered to be the most beautiful girl around, and too with enough riches...where lese, can he go ?

And then you all know., their marriage happen, even with Salman re iterating the fact that he still does not love him, but is ready to marry her.
To her just owning him at that moment was enough, she is still confident that she will definitely make him love her. ,
She is just not ready to lose her ownership on her perfect creation.

Days go by, their life also goes by, just as any newly wed's life., she s by far content...when Salman appreciated her, now and then., she begins to feel, finally, he is indeed beginning to love her.

And then her rendezvous with that beggar on that beach happens. He tries to tell her, that you are obsessing about your existence, how you look, what stand you hold in your society, but that is immaterial, you are nothing but this mud...your existence is temporary., today, you may be this, tomm., you will be some thing else...do not give importance to it, but try to look inside your soul., becoz that is what is permanent.

She laughs at his rants, which she considers mad.

She is overjoyed, when she gets to know, she is pregnant.

But the first blow to her dream world, comes in the form of miscarriage.
She is shattered as any expecting mother would , after such a news. This is the first failure she faces in life, but she gets okay in time, with the support and assurances of family as well as Salman.

Just as she is healing from that hurt - there comes a second blow - gets to know from an outside person , that there is another woman in Salman's life.
When she confronts him about same, he confirms it.
She could not believe. Yes, its true, that Salman never professed that he loves her. But can there be some one who is more worthy of his attentions than her...does she have more good looks / more refined and fashionable than her ?

She definitely feels such is the case...definitely she is much more beautiful than her. Her perfect creation does not consider her' perfect for him., but there is one more who is more perfect' than her !

She feels, such a thing should not exist, if Salman falls for her beauty if she is more beautiful than her, she will destroy the existence of that beauty.

So, she decides to meet her to have a look at her , buys a bottle of acid on the way.
Then she meets her.

When she sees Tabinda, she goes into an utter shock. She neither has looks nor is refined / fashionable . She is way too below the average standards / yardstick.

She asks Salman what he likes about her, he says, e/thing about her...infact utters the same sort of feelings as she feels for Salman.

She could not take his refusal towards her. What purpose did her beauty and riches serve ? she questions herself..and as she is does not have any sort of spiritual inclination, and since the very concept of God and its meaning is alien to her, she feels, it is the punishment that is meted out to her by God for not praying' to him.

She loudly questions her mother on same , as to why she didn't make her learn to "pray" to him and she suffers a nervous b/down.

As she comes out of it, she is a changed girl. In the sense, yes, she realizes, she has been foolish in obsessing over a person who does not love her, still wanting to possess him. She realizes, Salman has indeed done a bad thing , cheating her...but there lies her fault too...he never said , he loves her.

Her outlook towards life changes...she poses some very valid questions and statements, to her mother, to her childhood friend, who is still ready to marry her, if she says, OK .

She is now more considerate towards fellow humans and the less privileged.

But she is still at some sort of loss. Her heart is empty , filled with vaccum.

She feels, she has not done anything for God to love her...so, why will he be any partial towards her ? She is already endowed with riches and comforts which those riches can buy...God has given her more than enough when compared to the people surrounding her...

At one point, it is all enough for her...But NOW...is it really not enough...she does not feel it is...
She wants some thing more from God...she wants his Love...because she believes He hates her.

Now, in her turmoil, her Naani comes to her assistance.

She tells her, that her perception about God is in correct. He does not hate any of his creations. He is full of Love towards each of his creations. Just pray to him, to give you enough strength to tide through your suffering. She also asks her to go back to her house, as that is hers...she has made it...not to lose it...

M/while she teaches her the method to pray'.

(My take here - IMO, for a person, who is taking baby steps into realizing or knowing God, it is with a method of prayer, that he / she tries to get close to him. Every religion has a method to pray...it is a sort of meditation, which aids in giving oneself an inner peace.
This point that is shown in the show., is not about doing namaz, certain times a day., and reading Quran...Its only a method' to get close to him...and realise that he is the Almighty. Since the show is an Islamic show, it has been portrayed in that manner...you interchange it with any other religion and faith, you have your own method. When we are young, the first thing the elders teach us is how to pray, right ? which is unique to every faith... And then as time goes by we need not follow the particular method, but keeping him in our thoughts and Thanking him for what he has given., we may feel is sufficient. )

This outlook certainly helps Falak to a large extent...and she is ready to go back to her house...

But as she goes there., she finds that it has been overtaken by Tabinda...and she absolutely does not have any place over there..

She is not disappointed now...she has reached a state of detachment. She does not hate any one now, not even Tabinda, and Salman. She silently comes off from there. also, she feels and confesses that she didn't find Tabinda all that bad, but infact good.

She decides to finally divorce him and let him off...and she is at peace more or less.

Still she is empty...Though she fully realizes the power of God , still she feels, God does not have any reason to love her, she craves for that love. The riches around her does not matter to her...also, she develops a heart which is more humane...

In search of that true love, she meets a shepherdess on a beach, one day.

The shepherdess asks her why is she looking troubled...Falak says, she is in search of her soul, and since God does not care for her...she is unable to find her soul.
The shepherdess just consoles her...she tells her lovingly that God s love is unconditional,he loves each and every one of his creation., he loves the ones, who is suffering more...
Falak closes her eyes, and in the next moment she opens them, the lady with her sheep is not to be seen...not even her foot prints on the sandy beach are seen...

( My take is - the shepherdess is indeed the God , who has come to give solace to her troubled mind ).
Falak gets confused about the sudden disappearance of the lady...yet she feels much more peaceful.

She is now, entirely ready to take on the world , her life..

She is an enlightened soul now.

On a parallel note, Tabinda cheats Salman. She suddenly disappears one day. He comes back begging for Falak's love.
Her mother asks her not to give a heed to his requests.

She questions her mother, when her relationship failed previously, was she any better ?
Now Salman is at the same juncture where she was once.
If God has still loved me for what all I had been, even I can forgive Salman, and since I was equally at mistake before, I can give the relationship one more try. But this time, the manner she handles it will be much different.

As soon as she reaches her home, the first thing she does is to break the creation she made and obsessed over.
When Salman, asks her why she has broken her perfect creation , with her own hands, she answers him, what ever we make can never be perfect ! It is also, indirectly telling him., you are not getting obsessed over !

The serial ends with her helping her little daughter, moulding a piece of clay into a tiny figure of a cat...its not so very perfect but her daughter is happy any way...!

Some questions - you girls have asked .

why only Falak needs to be shown as what she had become...why not Salman...
Why a woman, not a man ?

I did not feel same gender based.
Its the journey of Falak.
You can interchange her with a male, with any other of a different country, religion...still the message is same.
And its Falak becoz, she had some questions, she was in search of answers...and she got her answers.
If Salman had his questions, he would have got answers too.

What happens to Salman at the end., did he get same amount of realization ? I really do not care.
Hopefully he had learnt his lesson, for the cheating he had done., in getting closer to another woman when he is already committed in one relationship. That is the learning for him.

Why Tabinda should turn out like that ?

Else how will Salman realize his mistake ?
He is also a part of the mistake, when he cheated on his wife. First and foremst, he should not have married her, when he felt he cannot be committed to her, and migrate to some other, when he finds his love.

The manner I understood Tabinda - She herself is the messenger of God - who had shown a mirror to both Falak and Salman, in her own way.

The show would have ended her being compassionate to fellow humans ?

Yes, then may be it would be any other story., where a person commits a mistake, realizes his follies...and is a redeemed person.
But Falak here was not satisfied at that...she had more questions and more concerns., for which she had received answers. She was shown how a poor watch man of her house is happy with his situation in life and do not hold any grudges towards what little God has given him. He is Thankful , that he is in a better position than who are even less fortunate than him.
These are all a sort of answers to her. , how to get close to what she began pining for.

And you all have also felt, it is nothing but instilling fear about God...that if you don't worship him, he will punish you.

I have understood it in a completely opposite manner.
That's indeed the fear., Falak had...but in the end it was negated.
What I took back from the show :
You need not worship Him every day, just be close to him. Thank him, for what he has given you. , and share your fortunes with less privileged around you. That is enough., and his love for every one is un conditional.
Love every one but do not obsess over any one. Becoz, anybody's existence is not what is permanent.
Let your Journey be towards the city of your inner soul.

The points I liked in the show :
Superb direction and screen play, superb performances, Awesome dialogues, particularly after revelation of Tabinda, the entire process by which Falak finds answers for her turmoil.

I hope I made any sense.
Sorry once again, it turned out way too long..

Uma,
You have a way with words. ⭐️
Watching it on TV never made it so beautiful as your post did. 😃

Now I can understand how you see it and why you appreciate it.

Upon my part , I somehow do not got touched by story the way you got.
There may be many reasons for that. I did not watch it in continuity , sometimes keep surfing with BV, sometimes missed an episode or two, I still have to see few more episodes. So perhaps it marred the whole impact.

Secondly from the start I was irritated by both arrogant , possessive , unreasonable nature of Falak and constant over stress by Nani on religious matters. ( it could be any religion)
So perhaps because of all these I could not make a connect with story line. Other things were secondary for me.

I think when ever I will have enough time , I will watch this again in continuation on net. 😛
