Name : Gurleen Date of Birth : June 27th, 1995 Location & Time zone: Toronto, Canada. Eastern Time Zone (UTC -05:00) Hobbies : Reading, listening to music, writing, watching shows and analyzing them, meeting new people, cooking/trying new cuisine. Reasons for watching Badtameez Dil : This is actually a bit complicated. While I was on my trip in Norway visiting my relatives, I saw the promos for the show airing there and had found it to be interesting. But it wasn't until I had come back from the trip that I had caught an episode. The very first episode that I had watched was where Abeer had spiked Meher's drink and almost got her rusticated. I had found Abeer's antics highly childish and displeasing. As a woman, I became curious as to how Meher ended up marrying and falling in love with a man who behaved with her in such a manner. But then again this is Indian television where abuse and violence is usually romanticized. However, what had attracted me the most from the episode was Asmita's portrayal of Meher. The flashback her versus the present her were quite different and I absolutely fell in love with the way Asmita carries her character in the present time. That collected composure and the manner in which she portrays Meher's emotions are simply brilliant. I love how unlike other female heroines, she does not cry at every little thing nor does she interfere in other people's business. Afterwards, I watched the show from the beginning and I began to love the way Pearl started portraying Abeer's character. Abeer has many shades to him and the charisma that he carries out is highly commendable. I have seen an immense growth in Pearl in how he portrays his emotions since the first episode and for that I have grown a deep respect for him. Apart from that this is the first Indian show that I will be watching after two years and the format and story-telling technique that has been utilized has done a brilliant job in keeping me around thus far. Tell us about yourself : I'm a third-year student and I am majoring in English while my minors are Religion and Literature and Critical Theory. With these degrees I am planning on becoming a teacher, however, I am still unsure of whether I want to teach in Toronto or go abroad. I am quite fond of cooking and have started making quite a few things as of late. My family have no complaints since they love it so much. Actually they find excuses and reasons to have me stay in the kitchen for as long as possible. 😆 Since I am majoring in English, I find that I am very picky in what I read. The grammar, spelling, punctuation etc. has to be precise or I have a hard time swallowing the piece. According to my friends I am a very good editor so if anyone needs me to do any sort of editing, I'm free to do so. 😳 I'm also very fond of travelling now. Last year I was in India and this year I went to Norway and I loved both places very much. I find travelling to be a nice relaxation technique as you are embracing and learning about a new culture while simultaneously forgetting about your own problems. I especially love locations with water associated to it. In Norway, there was a dock/port type location where you could swim, fish, or simply enjoy the view. It was extremely peaceful there and the amount of bonding that I had gotten with my cousin-sister there will be forever special to me. Umm... I think that's about it for now. If there's anything else you guys would like to know, feel free to ask! 😆
