Another thing I am seeing is evangelism in even those religions which did not have it.

Our philosophies are losing touch with their own glorious traditions in roots in their attempt to resist or mimic semitic faiths. Or maybe still suffering from hangover of being enslaved by these communities for centuries?

All faiths should stop being extremist or expansionist. Respect freedom of choice, live and let live!

Current trends towards rising fundamentalism both nationally and globally are alarming!

Religion play an important role in our culture, even though the western world of today is often considered us a secular society. Religion is a link to our past and has in many ways influenced our values and set the stage for today's society. As society go through changes, so does religion. People's actions and thoughts are affected by the communities they live in, and the different beliefs and attitudes they encounter.

Religion is always projected as to safeguard the individual's interest in a compatible group to live peacefully with sharing responsibilities and duties towards the society .

Anu, I heard many times these discussions over that polygamy and increasing the numbers of their religion ! Even questioned and snubbed by them because I am a woman , but , no way , can't stop myself to be silent in such matters .

For these fundamentalists , their religion which did or will do any good to them ? for that , putting their life partner's life at stake , health [both physical and mental ] in jeopardy ?Is she lesser imp to these fellows than his religion ? Atrocious !The undercurrent aspect is , " domination " which is more imp to these MCPs , with an inherent animal instinct , to use the women to fulfill his desires [all sorts of ]

From ancient times to recent time , all the big wars were fought for the supremacy of one religion over the other ! If religion turned as an enemy to mankind , is it not high time to discord it ? Is it necessary to safeguard the tempest for a drop of water , for the pleasure of supremacy of few people is it necessary to lose peace on earth ??

This is high time to move forward from age old beliefs , dangerous faiths , have to delete the dividing lines and now the need of the hour is to merge the peace with harmony .

I 'd love to dream about the religionless broad society rather than adjusting with rigid faiths and fundamentalists !

Firstly these hifi, richie rich celebs get Z plus security and their ilk never has anything to fear.
Secondly they use their religious identity for publicity but never did anything to actually help people of their own religion. Muslims in Aamir's own ancestral village are living in poverty. WTH did he do for them?

He can condemn India if he wants. Fine.

But what irked me was his hypocrisy! He said we should not generalise Islam when asked about Paris attacks but started generalising India?

He is just a loudmouth. Wanted publicity because he has no film releasing this year so barked to make his presence felt.

But stupid protestors also ended up helping him instead. And let him play martyr

I wonder why all religions are not dismantled given how much damage religion has caused over centuries. 😡

But I guess there is no industry and no control system bigger than this. So called custodians of religions are using it to get attention, money, material benefits and also control others. Religion is being used as excuse to blame own failures, shortcomings or divert attention from real issues and consolidate vote banks based on religion.

I hate how religion is used as excuse to bash women, try to control and abuse them or interpret female body and female psyche in perverse ways.

Most religions were made and interpreted by men. And they ignore unique psyche, bodies, needs, wants of women and children and project them as either distraction or property that need to be owned and controlled.

Domination is a tribal mentality. And selfish. It means you are not truly spiritual. You are selfish and want to use God and your religion to dominate! A real religious devotee is detached. He is not crazy about worldly stats, domination or how many places he placed his religious flags or how many he converted!

Just hate this entire scenario!
