Parth SamthaanI have to be honest with you. I have dropped a year in college. I haven't been able to balance things. Kya karoon yaar! I am shooting for 10 hours in a day. The shooting of this serial takes up every waking hour of mine. So, I have dropped out of my college for one year. I plan to return after one academic year and finish my architecture course. I am in the final year so I cannot take the risk of taking the exam if I am not prepared for it. But if this serial drags on for one more year, perhaps I will have to take more time off from my 'padhai'. I really don't know. Let me find out what lies in store for me.

3) Will you continue with this serial if it continues for five years or more?

No! I am not very stable that way. I will perhaps not stick to the show for that long. I will perhaps move on to something that excites me and I am pretty sure that one serial won't be able to excite me for that long. I want to do and try out new things in life.

4) Why and how did you think of becoming an actor?

The last show just happened and I was asked to join. I always wanted to become an actor. I am lucky that I have been part of two very popular TV shows so far.

5) Which team of co-actors do you like the most? Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan or Best Friends Forever?

Both the teams are very different. I get to have more fun on the sets of this serial. But both the shows were really good. But during (the shooting) of this serial, I enjoy myself more. Compared to the last time, we are more confident and established as actors. So in a sense we are enjoying this phase more than the last phase.

Parth Samthaan and his co-star Niti Taylor6) What do you think of your co-actor, Niti Taylor?

As a person, she is great. As an actor, she is very professional. We are not close friends in the sense. Does it come as a shock? Yes, we are strictly colleagues. We don't hang out together outside the sets or go to parties together. We don't talk unless it is necessary to talk as a colleague. So, no, we don't share any chemistry outside the sets and neither are we friends in any manner. We are very professional and we only talk to each other when something professional comes up and during professional meetings (with the cast and crew). That doesn't also mean that we are enemies but it would be apt to say that we are just good colleagues.
At the same time, Niti is a very professional and hardworking actor and she has done a fabulous job with the show. I am happy to be working with somebody who is as professional as her.

7) Who is your best friend on the sets? Why?

We are all good friends and we love to hang out together on the sets. On the flip side, we are shooting most times of the day and we are always together. I enjoy working with the team.

8) You love eating. So how do you maintain your body? Whats your fitness routine and diet?

You have pressed my 'dhukti rag' (pressed a painful vein). I love eating and it is very hard to maintain my body because of that. Still I try to follow a diet when I am shooting and I try to maintain a diet on the sets. When I get time off (say an hour or so) in between shots, I workout.

9) You don't party?

We are shooting for 10 hours in a day and we are shooting almost everyday. We get to party but that is not a regular thing.

10) Do you like singing? Do you playing an instrument?

I am a singer. In my college, we have a band called The Fab Five. I am the lead singer of the band. I sing pop numbers. We haven't been able to concentrate on my band because I am busy shooting but I would like to pursue my singing career at some point of time. We haven't yet performed on a big stage.

10) In real life are you like Manik Malhotra?

I am quite different from Manik Malhotra. Manik Malhotra, in my opinion, is idealistic and not rational. There are very few things that I have in common with him.

11) Any plans about doing a film?

I have been getting film offers and I am considering them. When I leave the show, you might see me anchoring a show on television. You might not see me in a serial anymore and this might be my last serial so to speak. But this is not my last association with television. I will be associated with more shows. I can't reveal more because I am not allowed to. Regarding films, I have got a few good offers but I haven't reached a stage where I can give a public declaration about the film projects. I guess I might be able to talk about it soon.

12) Do you get time to answer or reply to fans on social networking sites (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter)? Or someone else does it for you?

I am on all the social media platforms. I get to see so many people Tweeting, Facebooking and Instagramming me. I am there sometimes. But this is true that my social media accounts are handled by a team of professionals. There are certain times when I am on those accounts and most of the time, it is them who are handling them. They are doing a real good job of it.

13) Are you seeing someone?

I am not seeing anybody right now and I am single. Who in his right mind would like to date a guy like me? I am not available most of the time. My phone is kept away because I am shooting. I will not be able to take time off, neither I am any close to the characters I am portraying. I don't think I will be able to get a girlfriend right now. So, I am single and I am not being able to mingle. I don't think any girl will date a boy who is working and not available for 10 hours in a day. By the time I wake up, it's time to go to the shoot and by the time I finish, it's time to rush back home and crash on the bed.

14) What type of girl do you like in real life?

I would like a girl who would understand me and the kind of person I am and the situation I am in. She should not make unreasonable demands from me. More so, I don't think I am ready to date a girl right now.[/quote]
