Radhika, I mean they are not sati-savitri type. Actually everyone seems to be grey rather than either black or white. Maan Bai looks childish to me. She throws the food in anger as Salim is getting married to Jagat. I describe u the whole scene. Jagat has reached Agra alongwith her family for marrige. MB meets her & says she'll teach her how to please the price. She tries to take Jagat under her control. Jagat confidently says may be she'll win the love of her husband even without knowing his likes & dislikes. MB taunts her that until her magic ends she'll be loved & cared but after that she'll have to take her help. She tells Jagat that she's the first wife of the prince & also the mother of his heir Khusaro. At this Jagat replies that she doesn't need her help & she heard that Khusaro's mental condition is not good & in that case she(MB) may need her help as she knows some good vaidhya(doctors) in Jodhpur. MB fumes & goes from there. I like the confidence of Jagat. But u just tell me can our Jo behave like them? Had Jodha been in their place neither she would have tried to keep a new begum in her control nor would she have passed a sarcastic remark on the mental condition of a child who's her would be husband's son.

But looks like Jagat will play an important role in the show. In the precap the voice ver says something like," Aage dekhiye Salim aur Jagat k zindigi me nayi mushkilein...kya naya humsafar pane se khuleinge naye raste Salim k liye.."

But Khurram taken at such a young age from his mother really makes me wonder that which woman will ask a six day old child to be snatched from his mother ? It shows real Ruku to be not so good and Then I am not even happy with Akbar here.
Unless Abhay can through light here that may be Jagat was very ill or something like that,

Rash, even Danyal's sending to Amer when he was just 8 days old looks surprising to me.😕 May be it was the custom of those days. However evil a mother is she can't be happy if her child goes away from her. You are right Abhay can help us here.

At present i am not completely aware of the circumstances which led to Khurram's handing over to Ruqs. :)

But, this was a very normal custom. Ruqayya Begum was childless throughout her life. And she was given a kid in her old age when she was in her 50's. I simply do not understand what stopped Akbar from giving any other of his kids to Ruqayya Begum before this.?.
He was giving kids to Salima and his mother. But why not Ruqs.?.

Anyways, this was a normal custom in Mughal household to give kids to childless begums. Ruqayya Begum is not a special case. This is not a big deal, though it may look cruel in present times.
I am searching this also. Pata nahi kahan kuch mil jaye. 😉

Coming to Man Bai and Jagat Gosain. Man Bai was very much dear to Salim till her death. She was pampered a lot by this chap. And Khusrau was a very much fine prince, not a mental patient. He was groomed to be made the next ruler by Akbar as per what i have read.

I've just watched one scene of Maan bai & Jagat in Siyasat. May be in next episodes pic will be clear. But in this show Khusro was shown a somwhat abnormal child.😕

In Siyaasat, we do not have Hamida and Salima Begum and MUZ, who were the REAL powers and handled Akbar's harem. But only we have Ruqayya Begum. 😉 And it seems Salim is the hero and Abul Fazl is going to be a negative role. 😕

Jalal lovers are somewhat happy that Ruq is being shown all powerful & dear to Akbar but what can be the reason behind not showing SB & HB. Were they also not important?😉

Jagat Gosain and her rivalry with Nur Jahan is very famous. 🤣
She was too much of uncontrollable "mirchi" for Nur Jahan. 😆
I was reading on these ladies only few days back. Will post about Jagat and Nur soon. :)

I didn't know that. Will love to see cat & mouse fight.😆

There are so many topics to be posted, hence i am finding it difficult now.

Take ur time Abhay. We'll wait.😃

Do read blog discussions if you like. You will get lot of hardcore history stuff there. I am mostly active there, will visit here also. 😊

I visited to one of ur blogs. It's interesting. Thanks for all ur efforts & valuable info.😃

We were discussing why Salim was not present in Agra on death of MUZ. We discussed this in details on the blog few days back. If you missed i am posting the same thing here also.

Salim was near Ajmer when MUZ died in Agra and possibly the news of her death was given late to Salim. We discussed this few days back in details. :)

Sad he was not present at the time of her death...will wait for ur post.

PS : That post where we were discussing this was generating unusually high traffic. ;p

I didn't watch the complete episodes but I read few comments on the other thread that AF was Akbar's favorite & he instigated Akbar against Salim. In the precap he says to someone that if Salim doesn't commit mistakes he'll make him do that. Waise Abkar considers him nikamma in this show. He scolded him that if he'll become next emperor it's just because of his destiny & his birth not because of his 'Kabiliyat'.

Rash, as u said the authoress loves Ruq so she deliberately didn't mention any other character.😆 That book is fictional.

Hats off to these Rajput women. No wonder ,Rajput regiment is the biggest and a successful regiment of Indian Army ,

Very true dear. The real MUZ was also a very smart & intelligent lady. She was a shrewd businesswoman. I m sad that in the show the CVs show her stupid sometimes. But just suppose a lady who came from a different culture & religion & she bacame the 'beloved' of Akbar so there must be something really special in her.😳 You can read even the history books of small kids. It's written there that Jodha Bai had great influence on Akbar.😳

This is probably the only forum where the fans of male lead hate the female lead so much. I've read few comments that Pari was the reason of SV's quiting & hence dropping TRPs. Ok let's take Pari out of this show & SV & RT remain there & then see it's effects on TRPs.😆 The show is a success beaause of both.

Tamy once said that in their teenage Salim & Maan bai used to like each-other. When JoJa came to know abt the attraction b/w them they arranged their marriage. She also said that Akbar loved Maan bai like his daughter hence he got Salim married to her & not Noor as he knew if Salim married Noor, Maan bai won't be able to make her position in the haram as she was not as intelligent as Jodha.😳
