I'm very satisfied and happy with the way the film has turned out' - Adeeb Rais
He began his career as an assistant director at the age at 16 and is now looking forward to the release of his first feature film Main Aur Mr. Riight, which is hitting the theatres on December 12. We are talking about the young film maker Adeeb Rais, who did set a trend in the world of films and Internet.
Why and when did you decide to enter the industry of Bollywood?
I was very young when I knew I wanted to enter the world of film making. I just knew films was my call and I am blessed that things have been working for me over the years. I remember making my first short film at 16, starting off as an intern assistant at 17 followed by which I attended film school for two years and then started working as a professional in the world of media.
This being your debut movie, are you nervous about how it will be received?
Yes. I do feel a bit anxious. I want as many people as possible to flock the theatres to watch this film. There is a lot on stake for everybody. Any film maker who says the acceptance of the film from the audience doesn't matter to him/her is lying. I want the film to do well. That said, I'm very satisfied and happy with the way the film has turned out.
Any upcoming movies you are working on?
Yes. There is something in the pipeline, but it's too early to speak about it. It is a film and one that is a complete contrast to Main Aur Mr. Riight.
What is it about Main Aur Mr. Riight which makes it special and different?
I think it's the simplicity in which the film is made that works in it's favour. It's a sweet, relatable and genuine film made with all our hearts and souls combined. It will touch your heart and stay with you after you leave the theatre. Now days very few commercial movies manage that.
This movie is debut movie of Barun Sobti, why did you choose Barun?
I was looking for a new comer- one that would do justice to Sukhis character and secondly exude great screen presence. Barun fit both the above criterias and superbly. He was the one and I knew that, the minute I saw his first look test.
How has the experience been working with the cast of the movie?
I love my cast! They are young and fresh and all very realistic, each one of them do full justice to their parts. I'm very excited to see how people respond to them. They were very supportive and patient, I take my own sweet time to set up sometimes but they never complained. They were always very supportive and never let the energy levels drop.
The trailer has got a positive response among the audience, how was the feeling?
Great. It's a small budget and the trailer is very crucial for such films. I'm so glad the trailer hit the right note and generated the desired buzz. People hopefully will now enjoy the movie as much as well.
Any message for the audience, who can't wait for the movie to release?
Firstly, thank you for showering us with all that love so far. All that I can ask for now is that, you all enjoy the movie and please take as many people along with you as possible. It's a small but very cute film, I promise you a smile while exiting the theatre. It's totally a paisa vasool' film, give it a chance.
