Did you watch Yesterday's epi Anu. It was nice. For the FIRST time since I started watching the show, the actress playing Dhani didn't irritate me. And thank god for no obvious eye-locks and trip-catch routines...I don't think I could tolerate Mishal doing usual cheesy buffoonery of desi shows. I like how natural and casual he's in such scenes...cheap nahin lagta. Warna scenes where the hero heroin are stuck somewhere alone are mostly sooo annoying and cringe-worthy.

Yeah I've been watching this whole week and it's been some decent scenes...posted my full take in the EDT here:

I feel editing was still kinda blahh kal and the song could have been used better...as for cheesy buffoonery...thoda toh MR overacting kar hi raha tha in that bit when he scared away those lechers with his nautanki...high pitch ho jaata hai uski tone ka when he's trying to be all mischievous.

I toh loved the bits when he was getting exasperated and sarcastic with her...

Yes I do appreciate ki typical eye locks and trip-catches nahin huye but still some scenes could be given more thehraav...eyelocks toh waise hi inke har dusre epi mein hote hi rehte hain with the title song blaring in the bg...lol

Eisha is not a bad actress...girl has expressions...bas uski voice irritates from time to time.

I was trying not to read too much of ya'lls post since I still haven't caught up with the show but then I read your comment Anu, about the show STILL being at the same point 2 weeks later.. And just.. *face palm*

I am just going to wait till the story moves forward to even bother trying to catch up.

lol I thought you quit the show too 😆

Waise epis this week weren't too bad...some marginal progress VD-wise...it's watchable I'd say😆...as long as you forward through the scenes of all the other eyesores.

Viplav ki gf is shown OTT chipku sometimes but otherwise the girl acts well.

Overall thoda toh story seems to be developing but I find the show to be pretty inconsistent overall still.

Well I haven't watched a single episode since 3 Tuesdays ago.. But I just can't watch 25 minutes of nothing every day. The story needs to move forward somewhere! I think I had it enough when Viplav went over to the ashram to apologize that one night and they spent the whole episode showing her freak out and him talk to the door. I was like okay pause, will continue watching when it actually moves forward!
And sadly it seems woh abhi bhi waheen atkey parhey hain!

P.S. In other news, I love your sig Anu! That show has such amazing dialogues. I loved this show infinitely more than Humsafar enough though apparently Humsafar was a bigger deal? Like my very selective list of Pakistani shows that I recommend includes Malaal and ZGH. That's how much I love it.

LOL I stopped watching after that pointless dragged apology scene too but I started watching again this week and so far it's not as bad as it was two weeks ago...thoda story has moved and VD scenes are good.

Thanks about the sig :) I was reading through earlier pages and found this in the middle of some ZGH discussions...lol I'd made this on Jzee's request.

I don't care two hoots about the cheesy cliched show that Humsafar was...ZGH is in a different league...Humsafar was all about the Fawad-Mahira hype while ZGH had substance and a story with universally identifiable themes and layered characters...and Kashaf is probably one of my all time fav. characters in literature...this show made me a Sanam fan.

Malaal ofcourse is a classic too...UA's writing is such.

If I could nod any harder, my head would fall off..

I related SO MUCH to Kashaf! So much! And to see her come out okay in the end just gives me hope. I love her... So much Anu.. Sooo much!!

I relate a lot to Kashaf too...when I made my mom watch the show, she was like tu toh Kashaf jaisi hi hai😆...and I was like Maa, even I'm not as bitter as Kashaf was.

But I agree, it's the journey of this character over the course of this show, her strength, her vulnerabilities, the evolution in her perspectives that makes me admire the show so much...it's a journey that can be watched again and again and still makes the same impact in a touching manner.

All things aside though...reality is that only in fiction can a Kashaf find a Zaroon who will stand by her in the end...even though UA claims that Zaroon-Kashaf are inspired from her and her husband😆...I still doubt any man exists in real life who would show that kind of patience against all odds and stand by a complicated woman...Men hardly have that kind of patience in reality.

Still, I love watching this story...and as you said...the hope it brings about perspectives towards life.

That reminds me...I need to finish watching Durr-e-Shehwaar...that was a great show as much as I watched it too.

LOL you're a cat person? My ultimate plan is to get a dog😆

But yeah, that's the reality...desi men are deffo not inclined to try and understand a woman like Kashaf...heck desi men chhodo, most desi women will vilify a person like Kashaf too for not just being automatically "positive" and fulfilling the basic objectives of a desi woman in society...get married and pop out babies, don't ever use your brain or question anything
