Saurabh Tewari Films might be wrapping up duties for their ongoing show on Colors, Rangrasiya, but news coming in is that they have three new shows in planning, for which auditions are going on in full-scale.
As per a reliable source, Saurabh Tewari is presently working on a show each for Sony Entertainment Television, Star Plus and Zee & (and).
Recently, the team organized an extensive audition schedule in Chandigarh and Delhi for all the three shows. The team is looking for a right mix of fresh and experienced faces for the new shows.
A well-placed source confides in us, "The show for Star Plus will be a mature love story, based on relationships set up in Chandigarh. The Sony show will be based on a modern day Gujarati community. The show will be based on a popular novel."
The buzz doing rounds in the industry is that the maker is looking to cast the very popular offscreen and onscreen pair of Mohit Sehgal and Sanaya Irani for their show on Star Plus. Also, Shaheer Sheikh, who has recently completed duties for the popular show Mahabharat has been considered for the other lead on the show. Having said this, it is as well heard that Mohit also fits into the lead's character in their Sony TV show.
The source further adds, "All the three shows are in the nascent stage. The casting process is in full swing, and there is a long way to go before the leads get locked."
We tried calling Mohit and Sanaya, but could not get through to them.
Our efforts to get in touch with Producer Saurabh Tewari were futile.
Let's see if Mohit and Sanaya do pair up for this one...
Talented and popular actor Mohit Sehgal will soon be back on TV screens!
Yes, Tellychakkar.com had earlier written exclusively about Sehgal having auditioned for two of the upcoming shows of Saurabh Tewari, one on Star Plus and the other on Sony Entertainment Television.
A reliable source now confirms that Mohit has bagged the lead role in Saurabh's upcoming Sony TV show, which will be based on a popular Marathi literary work.
In fact, we had earlier written about Mohit's beau Sanaya Irani too being approached for the Star Plus show along with Mohit. Sanaya in fact, played the lead in Saurabh's Rangrasiya for Colors. Now the news coming in is that the maker has zeroed in on a relatively new face to play the female lead opposite Mohit.
Well, we also have the name of the girl. Roshni Sahuta, who essayed the role of Minty, sister to Gulki Joshi in Life OK's Nadaan Parinde has been finalized as the lead girl.
If sources are to be believed, the show is slated to go on floor in mid October. As of now, casting is on for the other prominent roles.
We tried calling Mohit and even dropped him a text, but did not get any revert.
Our efforts to get in touch with Roshni as well as Producer Saurabh Tewari were in vain.
As for Sony TV, Mohit Sehgal will be their next prized catch, after they roped in the very popular Harshad Chopda as the lead in their show Humsafars, starting tonight.
Watch this space as we will surely come up with more updates on this new show.
Saurabh Tewari's next venture on Sony TV has been in the news for quite sometime now and we update you with its title as Do Deewane EK Sehar Mein. As reported earlier the star cast of of the show has been finalized and Mohit Sehgal will play the lead along with other seasoned TV actors namely Ashlesha Savant, Nitin Sahrawat and Savita Prabhune playing a pivotal roles in the show.
Our source says, "The show will be based on a Marathi backdrop and the viewers will get the feel and essence of Kolhapur. Mohit Sehgal will essay the role of Mangesh Manjrekar who will be an athlete and his character will be loosely based on an eminent athlete Milkha Singh. The newbie female lead will either essay the role of Gauri or Kaveri in the show.
Stay tune to TellyBuzz till we get back to you with the exclusive detail of the female lead and as to when the show will go on air.
