@arya ..u are so right ..,the so called NEW Bollywood and its glamour quotient has me thinking that whether the Box office succes or TRPs will be now limited to JUST skin show, cheap Romace and item songs ...its ok to watch once in a while ..breaks the monotony but when it becomes the essence of anything it's kinda irritating ..
For instance let's take the Bhatt camp , the have immense skin Show and bold scene but heck when it has story and the skin show too becomes the part of the movie, it's OK...provided every second scene doesn't turn out to be the same.
Take any recent movie ..a LIL bit of kissing or teasing is kinda ok ...even a movie like 2 states had tht stuff but since it portrayed love at all times and the portangnists falling in love it didn't impact the fact tht the Movoe was a coming of age love tale for the people involved ...
I personally prefer movies like 3 idiots , but I have to admit such movies are rare or sometime even happen just once in a lifetime ...😭
I hope the makers both in Bollywood n tv try new n authentic stuff rather going the cliche way ..n making things cringeworthy
I really can't watch bhatt movies. i don't think i have watched an entire film. they do make some awesome songs though i must say. i would credit them with introducing the concept and rolling with it.
skin show annoys me a lot. it is not a new thing but for some reason in the older films it was not like in your face; now it is in your face all the time. for example zeenat aman and satyam shivam sundaram involved a lot of skin display as well as others but for some reason no one picks up on those.
now adays six packs and body parts all over the place. also the costumes/outfits don't really look that realistic depending on the film. india has beautiful clothes and colours but none of them are utilised properly. even the designer modern clothes are not used properly either which is a shame.
i mean if DDLJ could be a timeless classic with dodgy outfits then why can't they make a normal looking one now! I loved three idiots so much, it made me feel so good and there was kissing but right at the end when most of the movie was gone! it was not advertised and it really did not even affect the film. it could be interchanged with a hug and still be great. i also liked OMG! because it had a story and no romance! not even akshay playing krishna came with radha etc. Even the so called item song was not even an item song but catchy though slapping a girl is a bit far i thought.
That was a well thought out film with a message. But even though critics liked it the actual box office didn't.
super hero films are cool if defying physics a bit lol 😆 and sometimes all the CGI and big bangs take away from the plot that is always the same. One human or not has to save the world etc. still cool none the less.
What I don't like is people relying on their stardom to make up for lack of their acting. I'm no actress and I can not comment on it either as that would be in poor taste. But standing around and just looking nice (unless that is what the characters does) usually does not equate acting i assume. I've also noticed many models become actors. Bollywood seems so tough to get into and people it seems don't want to bank on not model pretty actors when they want to make their money first.
