The mid 50's to late 70's was truly a great period for music and melody. And the sheer poetry in the writing! Now it's just not possible. People just don't have that stillness about them to appreciate a film song. It's just something that's on in the background or an 'item' song to attract the masses.

Nothing wrong with that, per se, but a balance needs to be found.
