http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/entertainment/hindi/movie-review/Movie-Humpty-Sharma-Ki-Dulhaniya-Review-2014-Story-Trailers-Times-of-India/movie-review/38134885.cms

Review: He's Sir Hump-a-lot (or at least make out-a-lot). Maybe that's why his nick is 'Humpty'. Typical Delhi ka munda, part-dilwala, part-gunda. So we have a classic 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge' in the mix. Fast-forwarded to today (18 years later). Where love is a 'Facebook' post and the generational shift allows you to 'makeout' with your gal and smoke-up with your papaji-in-law-to-be. All is cool!

Yet, at its core, the story retains its roots in the chhotta-chhotta shehers its set in. The 'surround sound' coming from a big-fat-Punjabi-wedding with the usual paajis, vijis, bijis, maajis ... Oh-ji!

The dulhaniya here is an Ambala girl, with oodles of attitude - Kavya Singh (Alia) - who agrees to marry NRI boy Angad (Sidharth) of her bullying bauji's (Ashutosh) choice. Her demand is a Kareena Kapoor style designer lehenga (even the couture has caught up with time). Kavya takes off to Delhi to buy her shaadi-ka-joda, where she meets Humpty (Varun); their love blossoms over party-sharty (she slips out of *patialas* and downs the 'pegs'), coffee, cuddles and conversations.

But Humpty has to win over the stubborn Singh sir - and break this 'tailor-made' wedding with a 'designer dulha' - to take home his dulhaniya. And he will go as far as pickling desi achaar for the girl - only to please papa.

The strength of Shashank's debut film (tribute to 'DDLJ') is the performances and characters, whether it is Humpty-Kavya's cutesy, charming chemistry or the unbeatable boy-gang bonding with Shonty and Poplu (Saahil Vaid - howlarious act!).

Unlike the characters, the story doesn't enthuse or grow beyond the original plot, but it's pinned with warm, delightful moments and laughable dialogues. The music is average. Alia is spunky, spontaneous and simply superb. Varun has put all heart into this role; he doesn't let Humpty fall even for a moment. Sidharth looks smashing, but doesn't get much scope (disappearing without a warning), while Ashutosh shines through.

HSKD has plenty of feel-good moments, but nothing that will leave you punch-drunk. For romantics who believe in their dils and their dulhaniyas - and the quintessential 'Ja, jee le apni zindagi'! - it's a sweet watch (beware the sugar rush!).

Gaye mere paise paani mein 😆

it seems his role chopped on editing table too bad...without notice vanishes means abruptly his role ended...

He has been saying that his role is a cameo from the beginning.
So obviously he will disappear once he realises that the girl will not marry him.
His character obviously will come after interval and probably disappear before climax.
KJo is using him for promotions simply because he wanted to tap into his market. You think KJO would have given him a second glance if he was as good as the Rangeela hero in the current edn of JDJ?
No way. What made him take notice is his fan support which was with him even thru his not so grt dancing.😆

Any ways lest see what's in store for him.I think people assumed that he is playing parallel lead or something.

But I guess he will be playing parallel lead in his next film and probably a two hero film later on.
Looks like the role is short but his character performance seem to be getting rave reviews. So that way I think it is okay.He did make an impact on the big screen thru the movie.

Rangeela I have to agree with Artee - it's not the stars who make the show it is the story that makes stars of actors on TV.
They need to stick to good story and what's more stick to the story.
I remember Phulwa - when the kid was small they stuck to the story once the kid grew up they butchered the story in their quest for TRPs.
Phulwa which is supposed to be based on a bandit from real life they ruined it by making it into saas bahu saga,🤢 and when even that didn't bring TRPs they closed down.Sargun was really good in that show.

Varun dhawan clearly irritates the hell out of me🤢 dono its just something - I dont like his voice, his face, his dancing, his anything😕
Akshu baby😛
oh most shows screw up after leap...uttaran, used to be really good, when they showed the friendship between two little girls...class divide and all that, insecurities, still a bond...and since 2-3 years its in such bad shape🤢🤢
some stories should just get right ending at right time...
udaan sapno ki looks like laadoo...lets see how good they make it...

Sidharth looks smashing, but doesn't get much scope (disappearing without a warning), ----------
😆
Seems he sacrifices his rishta pakka for the sake of love birds 😭😆
Disappears after writing a letter or an e mail to another lady waiting on phoren shores 😛😆
----------
Enjoy 15 - 20 mnts of his exposure...( in short about 5 episodes of BV ) 😆
