Tumhare Mom aur dad!! 👍🏼 and 😆
But I so wanted proper redemption. It was unbelievable Khushi forgiving him so easily. but then falling in love with somebody who piled on so many atrocities on you was even more unbelievable right?
Arnav's deeds were beyond redemption actually lekin sab kuch maaf on screen!
woh bhi kya din the indeed! In fact your signature line is so apt, IPK ne nikamma kar diya, varna hum bhi the kaam ke!
Can any sane person believe it, how we used to hate weekends since there were no Arshi and wait for Monday!
At bold: The last part of the next chapter of AHF which I will post tonight, is a little attempt at partially unraveling this conundrum, as to how Khushi could ever fall in love with ASR.
Although the chapter isn't an answer, but a prelude to this dilemma.
Anyway, I'll give my inessential two cents here.
What attracts us to ASR in first place?
You know what, in days of yore, I used to frequent this site called myeduniya. There we had a group Cafe literati, lead by Milady where we were perpetually debating amid high humor and amicability.
I remember this post called "Ambivalence Thy Name is Arnav Singh Raizada"
"ASR and Arnav are joined at the hip like Siamese twins. They are inseparable in their starkly opposing duality."
ASR represents the most convoluted expression of self preservation. He is every bit a danger, highly unpredictable and poses a wholesome challenge. There were times when I wanted to slap him senseless, lock him and throw away the key, and there were times when I felt like leaping into the screen, give him a bear hug, peck his cheek and assure him, that all will be alright.
There in this ambivalence lies the fatal attraction.
The answer of Khushi lies in a twisted psychology. Do you think a girl like Payal can ever fall for ASR?
The answer is a screaming NO. Why, because Payal is a character holding on to sanity, to security, adhering by norms and apprehensive of challenges.
Khushi represents a stark contrast to that.
Sneaking out the mortgage papers and going alone to handle the situation, if you look at this simple incident beyond the obvious, it shows that she loves challenges and venturing out to the unknown. The day after being manhandled by ASR at Sheesh Mahal, she prays in the Dargaha that she wants to see him again and teach him a lesson, when she is aware of the danger he could pose.
Next taking up the contract job. Psychologically, I see that apart from random shenanigans Khushi loves the thrill entailed in being around a potent risk called ASR. And then gradually she becomes aware of Arnav. Falling in love isn't really a choice then. 😉
