Chitra...I heard that Laut Aao Trisha is based on 'Missing'; saw its trailer. The main actor Ejaz khan I read is a good actor. The only one I tried recently is Big B's 'Yudh' b'coz of Anurag Kashyap, but I didn't like it at all. Misti said Nawazuddin is only there for 1 day, so not going to try again. So, only EBP for me 😉.

Chithra Naba Bidan means New System ...Naba is for New and Bidhan is for System. The basic idea behind the book is that if one wants to have a balanced society or way of life then one has to move with the new but that does not mean leaving the old traditions behind. There has to be a balance between the two to maintain a harmonious life. It is not that one is better than the other...both have their positives and negatives, so one should not blindly follow. It is not one of Saratchandra's better works but if possible do read it.

I left the show alone because I knew that at the end they are going to mess it.

Jia as of now I am content with EBP and House ! I can't sit through Yudh , somethings wrong with it. 😕

I don't know about english translations...don't need them for Saratchandra.😃😉 I think asking Angie will be a better option.

Life's ok. Going on ... works boring but stressful 😉 Lot of reading material to tackle , can't find . Never in a mood to read after getting back home. 😕

@ Chitra...EBP over last 2 weeks is very good 😉. I liked the game, it ended the way Shlokie wanted it to be. . Next up..let's see where they take this! I used to watch House but its bit not to my taste ..the diseases and all .

@ Misti..nice to see you here. Busy?! I wanted to tell you that I have been listening Neelesh Mishra's stories while cooking or chores..my little one comes to me and says ..."Not again Mommy...listening to those stories and smiling" ... they are addictive. 😛.

I am also reading Jhumlahiri's 'Interpreter of Maladies' whenever time permits ..ie., bed time 😉.

Hello everyone,

Finally back after a long time. Was reading posts but was feeling too tired to write anything. Now reading some discussions about shows.

Chithra: I also like Varun Badola but like Misti, not interested in watching adaptation of any book I have read. Especially I don't want to watch Mittal's adaptation. I have some episodes of their top show and do not high opinion of them.

As for translations of Bengali novels, Misti does not need translations but I do.😆 However, I don't buy English translations as I feel that the flavor of the culture/language does not get translated properly (based on couple of translations I read of Tagore). Hindi translations tend to be better because either because authors seem to have really good command of two languages or because a lot of words/expressions tend to be close in two languages.

Myra: How are you? I think you asked about the ending of the Lunch Box. They left it to viewers interpretation. They showed the guy Mr. Fernandes leaving Ira (female main character) because he felt conscious about age difference. But then he got over his issues and decided to come back. The girl felt despondent at his departure and even contemplated suicide because she felt so hopeless. But then she got her spirit back and decided to go to the trip to Bhutan by herself. So she was going to leave her house and he was coming to her house. Then there was that optimistic line at the end that people who are destined to meet each other do meet or something to that affect. So it was left open ended if two lonely people would end up together or not. At least that's what I got in my jet lagged state.
