Wattalapam or wattalapan is an egg and juggery based pudding made just like custard pudding. There are some YT videos but in my estimate they don't do justice to the desert.

Since you are a veggie, I am not sure you will like it as this is egg based unless you eat eggs.

It is extremely delicious and very addictive

Used to here as well.
Always had to specify in restaurants - vegetarian but no fish.
Now not so much.

I cannot cook to save my life but can make a mean Wattalapam. So let me know if you want the recipe. It is so easy to make.
