So finally getting some time to pen my thoughts about the first episode of ZGH. The show started to air on Zindagi and it is 1 hour long episodes.

Well the one thing that really stuck me was the pessimistic nature of Kashaf - She is the most educated person in her house poised to enter the University, is intelligent but has this big pessimistic attitude. Her sisters chip in and help her to brighten her day and her second sister is always there to give an shoulder to lean on. But Kashaf hain ki, she doesn't have anything cheerful to think and always feels that everything that is bad will happen to her. So this is the journey of Kashaf from thinking everything bad to accepting that there are things that are good in the god's creation and yes I can understand where Kashaf is coming from. One thing I have to credit the writers of this show is that they have not painted the Female Lead as Dhoodh ki dulhi huyi - that is my main grudge with Indian shows and creatives. They always make the FL someone who is very white and pure and who forgives anyone and everyone. I am damn sure none of the Indian creatives would ever sketch such an pessimistic character as Kashaf to be the heroine of their show.

The rest of the cast, I have to say I love Kashaf's mom and Zaroon's Father. Both are level headed and caring. I especially was in awe of the infinite optimism of Kashaf's mother - she hardly breaks down when things are at its worst and always has an optimistic side to see. Reminded so much of my mother. I used to always feel why my mom was so nice and because of that the relatives used to take her for granted but mom was like - I am doing my job and let my rights and wrong be judged by the almighty. So I can perfectly relate to Kashaf's mom - people like that are present in the world and unfortunately it is people like them who are always taken out on a ride just like Kashaf's father cites his inability to help his wife and daughters not because he can't afford it but because he knows that Kashaf's mom will do it even if he doesn't chip in.

Coming to the show and the urdu dialect, I could understand the goings on without much pause and rewind. Though somethings I didn't understand like Kashaf says to her mother that Abbu took his family to "Mari"(Abbu apne parivaar ke saath mari gaye hain). I didn't understand that. Visiji help please. And the shooting is with bare minimum things and not like Indian shows where everything is always over the top. And one doubt I had was the dresses of Zaroon's sister. She is shown to be wearing sleeveless dresses and going around by herself. I mean is that okay in Pakistan? Zaroon's dad is sensible though Mom seems to be like a page 3 mom in India.

Well that's my tippani on first episode of ZGH.

Saradaji, I am not aware of any Urdu word "Mari" other than the most obvious one of course.

Perhaps they were talking of Muree, a hill station in Pakistan?😕

May be Visiji. I gathered that he went out for a trip or some outing kind of thing with his family right after he said that he couldn't help out Kashaf's mom in readying the house and so most probably it would have been Muree, the hill station in Pakistan.

The characters are very real and that is what I liked in the show. I would have loved my elder daughter to see this show if only she was better at hindi. She understands Hindi to the Indian serial level but not Urdu. She doesn't like to watch Indian serials as she feels the heroine is always 'goody-two shoes' ready to sacrifice for everyone. This show would have been perfect but she couldn't relate to it or understand the show's proceedings.

Visi, did you catch Baawre today? Nikumbh's smile seeing Yamini finally soak in the scene as well as his explanation as to where he wants her as an artist was just👍🏼 The actress was good in the shop scene... the fluster, the false bravado initially and then the way she handled the situation.. seems to be slowly settling into the role. Heineken.. looks like she heard your request.. no skinnies today😉

On a different note though there is not much of activity on the forum and the narrative is way different than usual shows - not sure how long they will be able to stick to the premise but till then it is one different watch.😃

TRPs are also very low but as you said, "till it is around" 😊

Yup liking the show Bawaare but I am not able to catch the 10PM telecast as they changed it to Savadhan India. Now this show would be on record and watch. The TRPs are quite low but one thing I have observed is that LifeOK is not that aggressive in getting the shows to have TRPs. GD had TRP around 1 for such a long time and yahan toh this show was not even promoted too much. So yes hoping that LifeOK will allow this new PH to tell the story they want to tell.
