I think she did copy verbatim certain passages from the original without crediting and provided credit only when it was pointed out to her. So, for me that demonstrates a certain disdain for her readers. She basically didn't think anyone would notice, and then when it was pointed out, she backed off and changed everything and said I am retaining only the concept. Just because someone remonstrates civilly (even though that's a plus!) and then backs off, doesn't change the fact that she did originally intend to use entire passages of someone else's published work as her own. Reminded me of Kavya Viswanathan "unknowingly internalizing" Meg Cabot. 😆I don't care about the concept, because I don't think anyone writing fan fiction is particularly original. Also, I read her friend's (ex-Bingala, now Applebee) response to the whole thing. I was gobsmacked. Just because other people have passed off your work as their's with impunity doesn't mean you should do the same. Yeh kaisa argument hai? I get that she's upset that her friend's been accused of plagiarism, but that's just a silly thing to say.Waise why am I wasting time thinking about people plagiarizing Mills & Boon novels when M&Bs are all essentially the same book with different levels of sexytime description. Bleh.
