Thx Arshi and Samarth. Just caught up with some of the pages of the discussions. Personally I haven't started watching. I have bookmarked the chat and hopefully can catch up soon.

I've been reading the posts on this CC ever since Samarth bhai PMed me the link, and I must say, there is quite a lot of enlightening material here

Will watch the show soon... it seems very interesting 👍🏼 And I would love to discuss it (despite my many literary shortcomings 😆) with you all!

Urdu : a sweet language, musical to the ears, meant for poetry, meant for expressing emotions of the heart, meant for love!
Woh bolne ka lehza, woh mithas woh nazakat,

Kaanon main ras gholti hai yeh zubaan

Ek soz hai ek lachak hai ek andaaz hai

Dil ko choo leti hai yeh zubaan

So, doston, apni Hindi ko improve karlo

Kyon ki angrezi main baat nahi hogi mujhse

Episode 1 :

Ek kissa aisa jiska

Aagaz hua anjaam se

Ek rishta jiska ka janam hua

Kisi ke inteqal se

Kuan thi woh jise sab bhool chuke the

Par sab ke zehen main kante ki tarah chubh rahi thi Jo

Kyon door kar diya apnon ne usko

Jis ki Maut ka dukh itna rula gaya unhain

Sawaal kayee, jawaab abhi aaye nahi

Paheli ki tarah uljha gaya Saba ka vajood !

So the MZZB journey begins.

We met the key characters

And also met the ghost of Saba

What stood out - the absence of any colors

The black and white clothes

That they were all wearing

Half of them in white

And others in black

Bleak, serious, mournful

Like the tone of the episode

Of course, it was just the first episode

I still have to still get to know Arfeen, haider, Sara and Saba better

But loved the first episode

Note - The other link I posted is good quality, but seems to have be an abridged version. Total length - 10 hrs 40 mins. I noticed after watching for 30-odd mins that I was at Episode 3!

MZZB is much more sophisticated than anything I've ever seen on Indian TV. And the sophistication is evident not in any fancy tricks but speaks through the conceptualisation, script, and cinematic techniques used. For example the depiction of Saba's character and story through different other members of her family but not her own daughter - wonderfully done. Cutting between the FB's and the present day, building the curiosity about Saba and her connection with Afreen, the script is indeed classy and tight as Smrth had said... The story appears to be really coherent, (among other factors, because no one has obviously tampered with it for TRP reasons!)

I dont think this is a product in anyway comparable to our TV version of SC. For one thing the TV version of SC has a limited scope - it does not cover two generations at least not in any significant way! The narration is mostly linear, and the script, well, my lips are sealed...🤬

The cast is amazing... I especially like the actresses who play Saba and Sara - they make a very viable mother-daughter pair!

Thanks to Smrth for the recco...😃

Edit - even our discussion about the title just goes to prove that there are nuances here, you can take different meanings at once and be right both ways! Stuff of cryptic crosswords - love it.

Happy ji,
Great analysis.👏 You and ivy are too good and sharp in evaluating technical aspects and artistic prowess. You put it so precisely here. Agree with each points...But I am inclined to feel more lenient in SC's case. Per me, trouble lays at 'indefinite greed'. The goal of 'commercial perpetuity is not only diluting the potential, it is compromising it to a forgettable mediocrity, IMO. Otherwise, if you construct a pre- defined script and adhered to a strictly meaningful 'close ended' tenure, Indian creativity also have much to proffer, as our movies are showing time and again. So it gets down to 'seasonal' format once again. I have decided not to watch any soap serial with open ended formulae.

Now Happy, what about episodic impressions? Favour us. You don't need to give us 'full report' ( though we would love it, whenever you are moved enough to share it so)- none of us here are- except Ivy and Arshi. They are 'duty bound' to share full reports after each episodes. Nothing less.😈
But all others, please share your impressions...to whichever part or parts.

Arshi!😲...
You made me read twice to understand, I think, by end of 20, My Hindi would be in much better shape than what it is now.😊
Great Lines...and not broken, they are poetically seamless.👏

Arshi, would you put some poetic introduction in main post?...

*standing-frickin-ovation* Arshi to your beautifully broken lines once more 👏 Loved your shayari on Urdu language. I am gonna read it out to my Nani, the next we talk 😳 I also have to second smrth Bhai, your beautifully broken lines are especially magnificently fluid today... The wonders one can do with a beautiful work, right. Something which moves you, moves you, and the result comes out for all to witness ⭐️

Finally episode analysis completed. This is my honest, first impression smrth Bhai. The show may appear simple and modest but it is grand. In scope, in ambition and in execution. Of course, here we may have to adjust our notions of 'grand' and like Saba, appreciate the beauty and happiness that a mere vine affords in place of a majestic palace garden. We all know from bitter experience the depths to which majesty in shows can sink us to. So I'm not only content. I'm also gratified.

Nandy ji,
No inhibitions here...we may compare. 😃...But take up the watch and part. 35 mins should not be much taxing, besides, once discussions moves ahead, it tends to get bulkier and disjointed for a later entry.
