"By Shelley Treichler

Two young girls who went missing late thursday afternoon were found physically unhamred late last night on the border of the woods on the north side of town just past the hollow estates.
The two sisters, Abbie and Jenny Mills (10, 11) were walking home from Sleepy Hollow late Thursday afternoon and had not been see since. A search had been been under way since their mother reported them missing at 9pm Thursday night. The two girls were taken to the Sleepy Hollow Medical Center where they were treated for dehydration and tmalnutrion. The two teenage girls are being held today and over night for observation and are expected to be released in the morning. "Thankfull, besides being a little thirsty and hungry the gilrs appear to be in relatively good condition," Said Dr. Alec Hammond.
The Sleepy Hollow Police department has not releassed a statement and will not be giving any details surrounding ing the girls dissapearance until they have conducted a complete and thorgough investigation. "Right now we're just glad to see them safe," said Sleepy Hollow Sherfiff August Corbin. The girls' mother Elizabeth M. Archer expressed similar sentiments saying,
"I'm just so grateful to the Police and to everyone in the town. I'm so happy to have them safe, avlie, and home.
This disappearance marks the third case this year and what is normally a quiet and well, sleepy Sleepy Hollow. At this time there is no indication that any of these events are connected but it is raising serious concerns amongst residents of the town. With no clear answers coming from local law officials many questions are being asked but few answers"" article cuts off
It's interesting though to see the theme of the Archer played out here, with Abbie's last name (or her mother's) being Archer, and with the Headless Horseman having a bow tattooed on his hand.
The Archer played a significant role in the 1999 film of the same name - both as the surname of a significant character and physically present as the image of an archer carved into the back of a fireplace. Names and physical brands involving fire, hmmm...
A little strange then, since the original short story by Washington Irving never alludes to an archer and I doubt the show will be taking many cues from the movie, so such a coincidental allusion is intriguing. I'll be interested to see where they take this in the show.I was hoping someone would pick up on the Archer thing! I definitely think the writers are working on a deeper level to really build a richness into the storytelling (both visual and verbal). Case in point: St. Gregory's, the mental institution where Ichabod spent the night. The place gets mentioned twice, by name, by Capt. Irving (also, really writers? Irving? So subtle.), when it could have easily been a throwaway line. There isn't an actual St. Gregory's in NY state, which means the writers deliberately chose the name. St. Gregory, incidentally, is the patron saint of England and of teachers (why, hello there, Professor Crane!). It makes me wonder if we'll see St. Gregory's feature more prominently as events unfold.
because I was bored and f**k you that's why
