my mum is watching punar vivah…and the scene is like gurmeet n kratika are having a supposedly cute fight….wow…it is neither cute nor charming which the dialogue writer has said umpteen times…everyone is over acting…and before that there was a dining table scene in which akshay dogra was also over acting…what's wrong with akshay's hair...

Rabba Ve on this lovely mother's day weekend. I always get the warm fuzzies and feel all gooey on this day - my mom and mom-in-law are the best! Enjoy your day moms and moms-to-be (Bop, especially for you)! 🤗

It seems like apart from the Kashwoofing (which I think should wrap soon, right?) there's no excitement around desi TV. I know I've given up. But, I'm a huge movie buff and its my one refuge from the world. This is the centenary year of hindi cinema and I was thinking it might be fun to pick one movie every month that we can all watch and then talk about. I'm calling it MoM - Movie of (the) Month.

Every month someone by turn picks a movie for us to watch and on a designated weekend we talk about it - it doesn't have to be detailed posts, just overall impressions. Hindi is the obvious choice but other Indian languages would be great too. Only requirement - available on Youtube and subtitled if in any language but hindi. I would love to get a regional perspective. I hear Marathi cinema is going thru a huge renaissance. I've always loved Malayalam and Bengali cinema too apart from Tamil.

Since I'm kicking this off, I'll go first. Over brunch today, my friends and I were talking of the greatest hindi films ever made and Garam Hava came up. I have a sudden wish to watch it again. It's sad and haunting but ever so poignant. How about we chat about it in 2 weeks - weekend of May 25-26? It should give everyone time to watch.

Clearly this is an experiment, so if there isn't much interest we'll jettison the idea - no harm, no foul! 😉 But if some of you ladies like watching and gabbing about movies, this maybe fun. 😃

Ok Shootout at Wadala only reinforced for me that the people who protect us create the crazies that threaten us...

Oh and RGV is an idiot...26/11 the movie is not a homage to Mumbai but a flipping joke! 🤢
