It's a day to hang our head in disgrace

A day which is the saddest for the human race

A day when the eyes rise up to the heavens above

And questions the place of justice and love

What made men turn baser than the brutes

What was their origin, what were their roots?

While tearing like her paper did they not even wince?

How did they live with themselves ever since?

Even to trample a flower, one needs nerves of steel

Didn't they know this flower would never heal?

What justice can be given to souls that are dead?

What punishment is strong enough to instill dread?

She is gone too far never to come back

A beautiful presence this world will now lack

She is in peace but we are not at rest

Because she reminds us the world can be a place to detest'
