I think you both have got points

I do agree with NB in respect to the fact that all the taboos associated with having sex, or talking about sex does at times creates more urges in human mind to do such acts..especially in countries where sex is still considered as something impure...almost comparable to the attraction towards the forbidden fruit that some people do it just to quench their curiosity...but then why such acts happens in western world...I think it is in the state of human mind...some people are mentally ill and love the idea of forced sex...they feel it is the way to exert their power over female kind...they enjoy the pleasure they get in seeing someone in pain...I was reading an article where prostitutes have stated how different are clients in their approach to paid sex..some are gentle, some are casual where as some are extremely forceful...although they know that these women would do anything for them but still they take diff approaches ..which clearly shows it is all in the mind...

Now mind being such a complicated bast**** does things at times which are beyond comprehension...it is very important to nurture a baby's mind with utmost attention..I find that for some reason women who have sons always tend to overlook their faults a lot compared to mum with daughters..(I have a son..and I hope I never do that) ..the attitude cze they are boys they can do anything sucks big time but it is true...still in India we see people rejoicing the birth of sons and mourning when a girl is born...so I think it is very important for a mother to instill proper values in her son..and not bring him up with the belief that just cze he is a man he can do anything to girls and no one will say anything...as a mother I strongly believe that if every mother takes the responsibiilty of making her son a good human being and teach him to show respect for women ...I am sure the world will be a much better place for us to live in ..

Hello everyone - I seem to have caught the Dori at a quiet moment but just thought I'd leave this here

http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=3328642

This poster was extremely abusive to Viraf on Twitter. I know it's her because she had posted her I-F id on Twitter. I guess I could cut this brat some slack because she is very young, but I'm tired of the sense of entitlement that she and others like her have.

In india as per official figures 95% of sexual abuse goes unreported so it would be unfair to compare the crime rates say with US or UK.

Actually NB has a good point. That could be why sexual abuse isn't reported, because if a girl has had premarital sex, then she is not "pure" and who would marry her!

But at least in the US and other countries, people do come forward, because no one is expected to be a virgin before marriage.
