India is a secular country. It is high time that we adequately represent religious minorities in our serials too. The good news is that Zee TV's forthcoming family drama Qabool Hai is set in a Muslim family. If sources are to be believed the tentative slot of this show is 8:30pm. The promos will be on air soon.

Nehalaxmi Iyer who played Krishnaben's daughter Divya inSony TV's Krishnaben Khakhrawal is playing the teenage daughter of this Muslim family. Karan Singh Grover will be playing her elder brother. Shalini Kapoor Sagar is playing the mother. Rishab Sinha from Spiltsvilla 5 and Surbhi Jyoti- a popular name in Punjabi movies will play lead characters, say sources.

Let's hope that this show may go on to foster Hindu- Muslim unity. It would be nice to watch TV shows based in Christian, Zoroastrian, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist (and other religious minorities) families in near future.
