Here, their expressions change ever so slightly. The're having their moment of contact in their own little bubble, but they are also aware of their surroundings and how inappropriate it is to be checking out one another.

Excessive eye contact looks like SUCH a joke sometimes but this scene they nailed it with perfection and it links in with what Kripa said, there is that element of realism in it because most people have stolen glances at someone when they've been at a massive party. Whether someone's wedding, engagement, birthday or anniversary!😆
