Btw Vasu, are you planning to read the last book again before watching the movie? I'd recommend against that...better to watch the movie first and then go back to read the book again...they've changed some things...which might have jarred me more had I just read the book before watching the movie...but just viewed as an independent scene with some tweaks to the original, I didn't resent it so much...well except for one crucial line in Snape's dying scene...that is a grouse I have but oh well...I guess I can live with it in the overall scheme of things.
Like that girl said in the post I quoted from Tumblr...there has always been a bit of a difference b/w book Snape and movie Snape...but Alan Rickman has made movie Snape brilliant too.
Oh really? I am actually reading all the books on the go at the moment, and watching the movies as well. I'm torn, actually - I have reconciled myself to the fact that they films are definitely not the same as the books, and so I should view them as films and not expect them to completely adhere to the books. But on the other hand, you could be right that reading the final book might jar with the final film...hmmm...maybe I'll read all the other books except the last one, and then watch the film, and then read the last book 😆
Yes, that girl was very right in saying that bookSnape and movieSnape are different, but both bring a completeness to the character. What I find intriguing is that Alan Rickman was the only person who knew in advance that Snape loved Lily, even before the book came out. JK told him because she knew he would need to bring that subtlety into his acting. What is also quite interesting to know is that though JK places subtle clues throughout the books regarding Snape, she has said that after Azkaban, only one girl came to her and guessed that Snape love Lily...and JK was left wondering where on earth she let that information come through in her writing 😆
Anyway, thanks for advising me against it - I think I will go with your suggestion and read the book afterwards. Anyway it will make me so sad...and I would rather not let that be marred by me thinking "oh, they ruined it in the movie".
@article - what I want to know is why TB could only find a nanga-punga photo of Amit? 😕😆
