Before the "Green Blood Bath" begins, here is a quick Q&A session...Some are related to the book, and some are not! I picked few from other book clubs directly as I haven't read the book yet, so do pardon the random nature of the questions. If one word answers do not fit in ur explanation, feel free to add a line or two but lets try to keep it "Sweet, Simple and Short!"

#0 Proper "12-grade School Education" or "Basic Schooling+Vocational Training" ?

#1 Capital Punishment or Life-Time Imprisonment ?

#2 A Trekking Trip or a Desert Safari ?

#3 What will u give a beggar/homeless person - One-time Meal or a Bunch of Coins ?

#4 How will u feel if u realise that the beggar threw away the food u gave, bcoz he was hoping to get a bunch of coins - Good, Fine, Ok, Sad, Worse, Won't bother ?

#5 How comfortable will u be traveling in areas that house anti-social elements - Comfortable or not-so-comfortable ?

#6 If you meet someone who might have palns to join some anti-social outfit, what will you do - Inform the cops or try to convince him/her out of it ?

#7 Which is more justified (neither one is justified, but which one seems more closer to justification) - Terrorist attacks like 9/11 or Killing in the name of War/Encounters ?

#8 If you had a chance to volunteer full-time and work for a cause, what would it be ?

#9 And finally, is the book inspiring enough to learn more about the region and it's ppl, or do u already know enough abt it - Yes, No, Maybe ?

P.S. Questions are in random order!!!

On a side-note, Hinglaj in Baluchistan area is one of the most-sacred Hindu Shakti Peeths and the local muslims organise a pilgrimage in the area every summer. Inspite of the cross-border fights, the locals have still preserved this great shrine all these years. Just read it randomly few months ago while I was trying to read abt all Hindu temples. Everytime I come across this article, I feel ashamed of myself for being an "Indian" where we are still fighting over Babri Masjid and Ram Janmabhoomi 😡 We have such big egos that we couldn't even comprise on building a school at the site for the kids to study 😡

And finally, its time for me to leave for work now...I hope this will help in reducing the Green Blood Bath today 😉

#0 Proper "12-grade School Education" or "Basic Schooling+Vocational Training" ? Both are fine. Basic schooling + vocational training is the norm in DE; and the Unis are therefore filled with the most capable people. Not like in IN, where every stupid Tom, Dick and Harry becomes a Uni-graduate (if not because he was pushed into it by his parents, then because of the fabulous quota system!)...

#1 Capital Punishment or Life-Time Imprisonment ? Life-time imprisonment.

#2 A Trekking Trip or a Desert Safari ? Trekking trip.

#3 What will u give a beggar/homeless person - One-time Meal or a Bunch of Coins ? Mostly, nothing. But if it has to be something, it'll be a one-time meal.

#4 How will u feel if u realise that the beggar threw away the food u gave, bcoz he was hoping to get a bunch of coins - Good, Fine, Ok, Sad, Worse, Won't bother ? Yeah, which is why I won't give anything usually...

#5 How comfortable will u be traveling in areas that house anti-social elements - Comfortable or not-so-comfortable ? Not so comfortable.

#6 If you meet someone who might have palns to join some anti-social outfit, what will you do - Inform the cops or try to convince him/her out of it ? Mind my own business, unless it is a person whom I care about, in which case, I will employ ever trick that language offers me to change his/her mind.

#7 Which is more justified (neither one is justified, but which one seems more closer to justification) - Terrorist attacks like 9/11 or Killing in the name of War/Encounters ? They are equally unjustifiable.

#8 If you had a chance to volunteer full-time and work for a cause, what would it be ? Education of under-privileged children.

#9 And finally, is the book inspiring enough to learn more about the region and it's ppl, or do u already know enough abt it - Yes, No, Maybe ? I know enough already... but I haven't read enough, so perhaps I get inspired later...

That is unfair.
Hindu temples have been damaged enough. Not just in Pak and Afghanistan; but also in India. Ever heard of the history of Somnath, or Kashi?? And not just Hindu temples, the images of Buddha at Bamiyan are a recent example. Fundamentalism is prevalent everywhere, might I add, more so on the other side. So, cut out the guilt/shame please.
All said and done, India is secular, amongst the atheist nations and the nations led by over-zealous, religious ideologues. Be proud of it. I have mostly left-wing tendencies, and an urge to scoff at jinoistic Indians; but in all fairness, most Indians are more tolerant of other religions than the "hallowed" locals of Hinglaj or their other countrymen.

@bold,
lol, that makes such a funny picture in my head.. 😆

Pigeon (walking menacingly up to a random person): YO! Mister!
Person: huh?
Pigeon (cocks head to one side): What you got there?
Person (looking shocked and scared): It's... it's.. meat! You don't eat meat, sorry! I'll.. I'll just go, shall I? (in a whisper)
Pigeon: I don't think so tall person (flaps wings threateningly and turns head left to right, twice.. and two more really big pigeons fly up and join the first)
Person (eyes darting in all directions, looking for an escape route): Please.. I just.. just want to eat in peace...
Pigeon B: That don't smell like meat to me!
Pigeon C (nods a lot and looks dumb)
Pigeon: Well tall man, what have you got to say about that? My friend think's you're a liar (takes a step forward), do you want me to...?
Person: No, NO! Please no! I'll do anything!! I lied, it's a veggie Subway! Take it, TAKE IT! (drops sandwich and runs away yelling about crazy pigeon mobs)
Pigeon B (pointing at sandwich on the floor): Will you look at that? Iceberg Lettuce! My fav! 😃

LOL... 😆
If you try to shoo away a pigeon, it just flaps its wings lazily, but doesn't even bother to fly away... That is the kind of craziness we are talking about! 😆😆😆

BTW, you must watch this, RW ji:

Whats Gone is Gone, it won't come back. Does fighting over Ayodha make sense now when the same space can be utilized for a good deed??? We are talking abt the priorities here, is it more important to secure ur child's future or build a monument that ur child might not even be interested in visiting???
