Gathering Monsoon

The heat, itself melting into the dampness; the Season!

the winds soaked in vapours, sent by a far away Ocean.

The steams seeping from the sea, lapping the city on west,

Laburnum's yellow spread, bowing to Gulmohur's red,

Alfonso, the king of fruits, heralding the Grishma's end.

The milieu, gasping and sweating, yet in eternal rush,

striding the maddening jams,braving an eternal crush.

The treacherous, laden winds, teasing and testing hard,

Playing a true truant, leaving them for an eerie discard,

escaping the coastal lands, denying their full discharge

spraying a fear ubiquitous, at the lakes' vital recharge.

But then,

arrested by great mountains, lining the eastern sky

stately Western Ghats, whispering the age old sigh,

Release your cheated store, ere you stray onward

the city on Arabian shore, ever monsoon favoured.

The rains, on a visit again!
