It is also a way to show that you love and care for your significant other. Girls are socially bound and gagged from showing their true feelings openly , but they are thinking same things.

I totally agree with your view....girls also have this on their mind....wouldnt they think it odd if her hubby did not try to get close to her or kiss her, specially considering their SR turned out to be a real fiasco. And did anyone notice that Akshara also closed her eyes in anticipation of the kiss. So she was equally willing.
