I am definitely generalizing. And I would say many places have alot of work to go. Conservative is my bias. But then I am a bit of a flower child so that does color my views. Also, I know some people, who marched in Delhi, so I am not saying everyone. There are plenty of people I like for their cordiality but avoid certain subjects with.😉

In fact, there were some states in the U.S. that still had sodomy on the books as being illegal in the south. Since 2003, gay people are allowed to pursue relationships of course, but they are still fighting for the right to have financial and partner benefits throughout the land so they will be able to see their partners in the hospital or be apart of their wills or seek insurance benefits.

It is still a work in progress. And Obama's lack of movement on the Don't Ask Don't Tell policy in the military is telling. But I know the economy is more important and civil rights legislation must come later. *sigh and eyeroll*

WHAT ?! 😲

What, how is this possible? This needs to be remedied. Watch American Psycho. Haha, why am I recommending his most disturbing role to you? Actually, I know someone, who lives in this area and says this film terrifies her and is based on a book by Bret Easton Willis.
Do see The Dark Knight and Batman Begins. Actually, I even like Newsies. Yes, I have seen that flop.

Yes, Many places have miles to cross and alot of work to do, but I simply pointed out that accounting the stereotype that the Indian Society is some 'Gay-thwarting' society to be right is a generalization which happens to be incorrect. Like I mentioned before, Homosexuality has a long way to go when it comes to being accepted socially. I don' t deny that at all.
I have very little idea about the developments pertaining to this issue in US so I'd rather not speak, but deducing from your post, it looks like homosexuality has a long way to go in almost every part of the world.

Neetz! I love 'chor bazaari' song too! It's my favorite out of the whole soundtrack and I listen to it at least once everyday ;)

I wouldn't say gay thwarting. That is not what I meant at all. But I do think it is a bit unsettling and probably an uncomfortable topic of conversation for many. Not the most popular conversation piece at the dinner table. I am staying here longer than I should, but you catch my drift. By the way, I wrote a long reply to you in the 62nd CC and need to find what I wrote. You are never on when I am on.
