Oh, I don't know about best. Bill Hicks, Carlin, and Stewart, so many that I love. I watch too much stand-up; I miss Chappelle. But Conan is one of a kind, and when it comes to the premiere late night shows, Conan is the most unique. And I love the Conan Hates My Homeland skits. And the faces he makes into the camera are kind of one of a kind as well as how he describes his hair, a separate being. The Walk Texas Ranger clips are classic.
Anyhow, my impressions of Jhalak in order. Prabhudeva was amazing. Wish Caro was here, I want to hear what she thought of the thrusts in Urvashi Urvashi. And Vaibhavi in the introductions reminds me oh how good of a dancer she is based on her routines in Nach Baliye to Krazy Kiya Re.
That first solo round I was the most impressed with Gauhar and though she should have gotten a couple marks higher than Bhaichung, but his choreography was still much better than Karan's, whose coordination could have been better.
Gauhar's Jiya Jale performance was ridiculous and how she is able to do everything with such perfection. It is like her body is robotic almost. Saroj's praise was so blatant, and I love how much she shamelessly proclaims that she deserves votes cause it is so true. And her family is too cute. LOL, brothers aren't the same. I like Nigar alot. And Prabhudeva's just the way he said the ideas are too good, the girl is too good, warmed my heart. And Gauhar's expressions were perfect too here.
Karan's second performance was alot better, and I will give him credit in terms of the proper expressions and postures. But I think it also played on his strengths too, which was a smart thing. He is good at sweet talking with the whole 3 traits thing I have that they don't. Yeah Bhaichung and Gauhar don't have alot of love for their fans.😉
Bhaichung and Sonia's performance has left me spellbound. I usually don't look to slow songs and choreography, but Sonia excels even without all the downbeats. And being jealous of her imagination was such a big compliment, but I completely get it because like Vaibhavi said her acts are so unique that you don't see them anymore. I love you is all Vaibhavi could say to Sonia, and she so deserves it. And wanting her brains so she could start her career again was such a big compliment, but uh I have been effusive about Sonia all season so I am glad she is getting her due. But Bhaichung clearly benefits because she makes him shine. So he may be moreso benefitting in that regard where Gauhar is clearly moreso shining due to her own abilities.
Karan was very off due to coordination in the final act. He came in before or after the beat a couple of times. He should stick to slower numbers and more postures because he does not have rhythm. Bhaichung and Sonia's bhangra was nice, and it was to do a more Indian based number. But I loved Gauhar's performance. It was so unique in concept and so much of the onus was on her. Her expressions were beautiful and were in accordance to her dance. That is where I feel she should have a bit of an edge over Bhaichung, and I would give her that if I was judging though yes Bhaichung does have good coordination.
That is my full commentary. Prabhudeva and Saroj's dancing was a nice end though. 😃
