Tara, what tour was that?
Ok, now part of the Tom Cruise story LOL.

You see, I was 8 years old when I first laid eyes on Mr. Cruise. At that particular point, he was in his prime. I first saw him in
Mission Impossible and I thought I was in love. No joke! It was a typical fanboy phase for me. Needless to say, I became OBSESSED. Yes, even I went through my phase of obsession, though not quite as blind and horrific as some we might have experienced *ahem ahem* LOL! Anyways, it wasn't long before I indulged myself in the fandom of Tom Cruise. I explored all his films, and to my surprise, found out, along with being incredibly beautiful, an exceptionally talented actor. Anyone who contests simply needs to see
Magnolia which I would rate as one of the best male performance of the decade. Period. I owned his every film, had stacks of posters, an arsenal of video cassetts full of Tom Cruise appearances, and even had a website 😆 Not only that, but I brainwashed all my friends (and strangers alike) and turned them ALL into TC fans. Heck, my 'marketing' strategies for his films were so severe, that even Warner Bros. contacted me during the release of
The Last Samurai (true story). Now you all may think that this is extremely sad and I agree, but I was young! We all make mistakes right? We're all crazy at some point right? Ok, now I'm babbling on.
It was the summer of 2004 and his new film
Collateral was about to hit theaters. We were going on a vacation and my family had asked me to pick a location. I told the I wanted to go to California because I wanted to meet Tom Cruise. LOOOOOL. My wish was granted, and off we were!
I searched long and hard to find out where the premier of his film would be so that I could meet him. I finally found tickets to his premiere, which were on sale for $500.00. My family, knowing of my obsession, granted me the chance to buy that 500.00 ticket. However, by time I got to purchasing the ticket, it had sold out.
I was crushed. 😭 I knew at that point, I wouldn't be able to meet him, so I thought, lets try the next best thing. Actor Jamie Foxx costarred with Tom Cruise in Collateral, and he was appreaing on the
Tonight Show with Jay Leno. I thought he was the closest I could get to Tom, so we decided to go to the Jay Leno show.
The show was a great appearnce, and we were even on TV for a split second. Jamie Foxx came on and chatted with Jay for a while. At one point, he mentioned Tom and I said 'WOOOOOOO' (you can hear it in the video). I was so ESTATIC that he even mentioned Tom. I kept thinking about it! Jamie Foxx was telling a story about Tom Cruise, and he said something funny. The audience erupted in laughter, and I looked towards my sister to comment on it.
While I was looking at my sister, screams started to be heard. My other sister, sitting beside me also, grabbed my hand so tight and said OH MY GOD!!!!!!!
And I looked.... and there he was! Yes my friends, it was indeed Tom Cruise, who had just made a surprise appearance on the show. Now you can all imagine what happened to me next. I lost it. The room erupted in screams, but nonetheless, my shrieks were overtowering all of theirs LOL. You can clearly hear me in the video. It was a mixture of ' AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH OMG I LOVE YOU' and lots of tears. The screams went on for a record breaking 1:23 seconds (somewhere around that) and even when everyone else had stopped, I still continued. It was like a dream come true!
So anyways, he chatted a bit on the show, and then cut to commercial break. It was time for him to leave, and I broke all boundaries, and jumped from the fourth row and ran towards the fronts, and BEGGED the guards to let me meet him. He passed by right then and I screamed again. He shook my hand, and then hugged me.
*Sigh*... LOL! I'm not obsessed anymore, for the record. And also, he appears much taller in real life than he does on camera. And he appears 1048395934958 better looking in real life than he does on camera. The smile is simply stunning!
