Under the mulberry tree
The warm rays of sunlight swept across the sky ,painting it in the lightest shade of blue. They walked through the green grass fields holding hands, making their way towards the brown wooden bench under their favorite mulberry tree.
Licking off the chocolate at the corner of her lips ,she asked,
"Will we be friends forever?"
"Ofcourse we will" ,he said with all the innocent determination of his eight year old self, handing her his bar of five star.
"I already ate one of yours",she replied sheepishly. The white daisies watched them as he smiled back taking her hand in his .

The glistening golden stars adorned the sapphire blue sky during a cold winter night. The westward breeze still flew by as they sat on the same wooden bench exchanging a word of silence.
"So there has been a request for your hand in marriage". He spoke finally looking closely at her.
"Is that why you are here? " So that's what you are going to do. Praise him away to glory to convince me to get married to the person I don't love? Isn't that what you always do to get me to agree? But I decline." she spoke as her eyes began moistening. Why was he making it so difficult for her? Is he a fool to not understand that he was the only one her heart always desired?
"You cannot decline before knowing him?" He reasoned.
"Its me who gets to choose" and with that she began walking away and he could very well hear the heartbreak even in her voice.
"No I'm not going to praise him, he's riddled with flaws."
She stopped midway and turned to him ."He is?"
He slowly nodded. "I have it on good authority that he's stupid and arrogant and obstinate, or at least he was until he realized what a fool he has been."
"But that's what I said about... you." She replied taken aback.
"Well shucks, that does sound like me.So though I'm not a perfect man I'm here, on one bended knee. This question now my heart ,which is in love with you demands,
Will you let me call you mine forever,Sharon?"
She couldn't believe the words she just heard. Her heart fluttered as the moment began to sink in slowly.
"Ofcourse...ofcourse I will Swayam" ,she smiled tearfully as he slid the ring into her finger and she crushed herself into his being.
Everything was the same still. The wooden bench, the mulberry tree belonged to them still. The white daisies watched them still. Only the ring in her finger now is what made all the difference.
