new York story is NOW the present because there is a leap of 10 years. Swayam and Sharon are married and live in new York together away from their parents because of work and whatever happening in Mumbai is also present that is 10 years leap ke baad and the time when mahima goes into coma is 5 years ago that is new York ko Jane se pehle mahima was in coma. Clear?

And yes diary is that same diary if you remember which Sharon safely kept after cleaning up her room after her break down if you remember. That book is the one worth 20 thousand now which that hoody man has. Hope it's clear now. :)
