Her two emerald green bulging eyes sparkled with fear when she grasped her surroundings. At that time Swayam remembered that, once someone has said that the eyes are the mirror of the mind and we could bore into someone's soul through them. A person could hide their pain behind a smile with an ease but their eyes always expressed the exact feelings.
The acute pain in her eyes created knots in his heart, her accusing gaze squeezed the life out of him. The knots tightened with every second that he spent with her and he squirmed severely in it to release the hold, he burned in his regret, the regret of smashing one innocent soul.
He was her culprit and she was his victim!
Once he burned her life with the intensity of his revenge and now he does not know how to calm the igniting fire of regret which is forming inside his heart.
It is inflammable highly inflammable!
A warm sensation ran through his spine when his eyes met with her sleeping form on the couch, his insights danced in pure delight, to his amusement a small gesture of her elated him.
It was not like he wanted to lock her up, if he had a choice then he would not have done that, it hurt himself too, to keep her locked like a kidnapper.
His life was moving in a zigzag way and he did not know how to make it straight and how to tackle the nodes and the sharpened points. Only time would heal everything, and he had only one choice, to wait to see what destiny has planned for both of them.
After coming out of the guest room he went to the kitchen to make the dinner but before he starts his work a loud shriek from his phone interrupted him.
His took the mobile out from his jeans pockets, a cute smile appeared on his face when he heard the cute giggle of that familiar person.
"Uncle" Pia yelled over the phone.
His lips took a wide crescent shape when her ever so smooth voice fell on his ear.
"How is my baby?" he cooed.
"I'm fine, how are you? And my didi? When did you both reach there? Why did not you call me? Did you both reach safely?"
She bombarded him with questions.
"Stop! Stop! Stop! Take a deep breath and ask your questions one by one." Swayam joined in her giggle.
"Sholly" She cutely pouted.
The whole time a smile adorned his face.
"Ok...me and your di are fine, we have reached here safely, and everything is cool." Swayam said while pulling a chair to sit in the dining area.
For a few minutes she did not reply.
"Pia, Are you there?" He enquired.
"Uncle..." She called startling him.
"What happened dear?" he frowned at her heavy voice.
"Why did you take my di from me?" She blamed him.
Her soft voice had an accusing power. At that moment he wished to vanish from the world, if the earth could have opened and swallowed him up it would have been doing him a great favor.
"I miss her." Pia's eyes welled up.
He stood there stunned, the chair was long forgotten, he did not know what to reply to that small girl, how to console that little heart, he could feel desolation in her voice, that was cracked.
The Malhotra family had not totally agreed with Sharon's decision of going with Swayam, but she had assured them that it was her decision and she would be returning soon. She very tactfully escaped from their questions about the new settlement. Even though she had lived with them for six months she always kept her secrets hidden and no one ever tried to dig into her past and into her secrets.
"Uncle" Pia's voice brought swayam back to normal.
"Can I talk to her? I can not sleep without talking to her." She asked with a hope.
"But she is sleeping." Swayam said without thinking that his words were capable of breaking that fragile heart.
He shivered when he realized his blunder, that time he was aware that his reply would have broken her heart, and indeed that happened, she whimpered and he mentally smacked his head.
After that the line went dead. He fell on the chair with the grief of hurting a small kid; he had messed up everything and everyone's life.
Sitting there he looked back into his colorful life, but to his disappointment that was an inadequate one. He could only see himself there, no one was there, neither parents nor siblings, the very first thought came to his mind was that he was alone in his life; he had a lot of friends to share his luxurious life, but no one was there to share his grief.
He had everything that a common man would desire to have but he had not gained anything in his life, even after being a most wanted reputed bachelor he had nothing and no one. A man who begs in the Street would be richer than him in the name of relationships.
He never ever had felt this much emptiness in his life, he had everyone but still he was alone, the people whom he loved abandoned him. Since his childhood desolation became his companion, he had no one to share his happiness when he got high marks in his school, his sadness when someone insulted him, or when some one called him names. His dad was hell behind the business; he relinquished his commitments as a father towards Swayam to become a successful business man.
Almost a half an hour passed, swayam went to his to room to call it a day, after freshened up he laid on the bed, he knows that sleep was far away from him, his thoughts went to that night when Sharon left, the same day of Taani and rey's engagement, everyone was happy since that morning, Sharon was overjoyed, that was one of her dream, to be a part of a family gathering but the revenge inside swayam did not allow himself to see the smiling Sharon, he told her that was the last day of their contract and he ordered her to get out of his life. Within a second her dreams crashed down, she was expecting that day when he would tell her to leave but she never thought that the engagement day would be the last one chance she had to spend with the lovely family. With a heavy heart she smiled for tanni, for her father in law, for that man who gave her a fatherly love, and for a lovely friend, more than for all these people she smiled for swayam, for her man, for helping him to keep up his image.

Sharon stretched her whole body after a long nap, with the satisfaction of having a much needed rest she went to down stairs; she had forgotten to look around.
She went rooted in front of the kitchen, there Swayam was making coffee, he was in just a pair of jeans, she stared at his ever so drool worthy body. His presence was enough for her to realize the past events and where she exactly was.
"Done checking out?" He stood in front of her smirking.
"Huh" She scoffed.
"I was not checking out, I have seen much better." She then flipped her hair and went to the kitchen.
She cursed herself for checking him out. Swayam sat on the chair in the dining area, and drank his coffee.
"Good morning Sharon." He said without looking at her.
"What did you just say?" she glared at him.
He frowned.
"Who will glare if someone wishes them good morning?" He thought to himself face palming.
"I just wished good morning, you know it's a normal way of greeting." He said like she was a small kid.
"Morning!" She said to herself.
For a few seconds a silence spread over there.
"Ahhaaa" She screamed and ran towards the room.
Swayam sat there looking at her without understanding what just happened and why she screamed, in seconds she disappeared into the guest room.
Few months ago she used to blush when he looked at her, then after knowing the truth behind their marriage she used to shiver instead of blushing. And now she was back answering him as if she had nothing to do with him. Her change was unbelievable.

Meeting his family and a ready to eat friend was not what swayam was planning to do, he left his house to save himself from their agonizing gaze, and he could not stand in the same room with people, who looked at him with disappointment. Their absence created a huge void in his life, the only way to get his life back to the track was through Sharon, she was his token to make everything perfect, but does he want her only for making everything back to normal? No! Now he wants her for him to start a life from the beginning, to love her, he does not created any strong feelings towards her yet, but his heart is yearning for her. He is in still a confused state.
Months back he could only feel hate towards her and his feeling gained intensity after each passing month, one day his vengeance crossed the limit, and then he planned to destroy her. The best way to destroy a girl was to cheat, he cheated her, betrayed her, and broke her trust, Made her feel like a garbage to use and throw. He became successful in his plans, in the first month, he acted like a caring and a loving friend, next month he turned his plate and pretended to be in love with her, the poor soul who had been yearning for attention, care and love fell for his devilish plans, he took advantage of her innocence. Now he don't know what he feel for her, but it was not hate, if he still hated her then he would not have brought her here. His hate feeling was long forgotten, now he feels something towards her and he do not know what to call this feelings, now her pain was affecting him.
Her changed appearance created a huge difference; does he feel this because of her changed attitude?
What if one day this feisty Sharon changes to the naive one, will his long forgotten hate replace the new formed feelings?
And in case if she found out that he was regretting because she changed to a modern and sophisticated girl, What would be her reaction?
