You know what Mr.Swayam Shekhawat.. Let's break up.. Yes.. Let's.. Let's break up!'
Swayam kept looking at her wide eyed.. Shocked.. Baffled.. This surely wasn't happening..
Swayam (disbelievingly): S-ha-ron..
Sharon (turning her back, in tears): Main thak chuki hu.. I'm tired.. making myself perfect for your family.. main jo bhi karu.. Unhe hamesha mujhse koi na koi problem hoti hai.. Its.. its suffocating.. Aur yeh sab.. its harder because mujhe pata hai ke iss sab main tum mere saath nahi ho.. (turning to him, a bit aggressively) Ek baar.. Ek baar bhi tumne apne family ko kuch nahi kahan.. Not once!.. Chup chap khaade udhar tamasha dekhte rahe.. Meri insult hone di.. Not once.. Ek baar bhi mere liye stand nahi liya.. (catching hold of his collar) Aur main ek aise insaan ke saath apni life nahi guzaar sakti jo mere liye kabhi khada na ho.. I just can't.. I can't
Sharon broke down.. She had, had enough from Swayam's family.. From Swayam himself.. There is a thin line between compromises and sacrifices and his family surely happened to rub off that line.. But Sharon! She was a girl from today's generation.. Where the guys compromised as much as the girls did.. Where both took care of the house.. Where both have equal responsibilities.. And there was a sense of equality in everything.. But his family failed to cope up with time and were still living back in the generations..
Swayam wrapped his arms around Sharon as she still held onto his collar.. He caught her before she fell.. He caught her before she broke completely.. He tightened his grip around her pulling her closer.. He was guilty.. It killed him to realise that he was the reason of her broken state at the moment.. But if he was the reason for these tears then he would be the reason for the following smile.. But he knew he would have to work hard to achieve that.. He let her cry and get this pain out of her system.. He dug his face in her hair and closed his eyes silently apologising to her..
When Sharon realised their position she tried pushing him away but in return his grip just tightened..
Sharon (trying to get out of his grip): Leave me Swayam..
Swayam (softly): No!
Sharon (in tears, pushing him): I said leave me.. Chale jao yahan se..
Swayam (tightening his grip): Kahin nahi jaunga..
Sharon closed her eyes whereas the tears didn't stop even for a bit.. He was just making it difficult for her to go..
Sharon (crying, hitting him on his back): Chodo mujhe! CHODO!! I SAID LEAVE ME!
She kept hitting and pushing him but he didn't budge an inch.. He knew he had to calm her down first.. He immediately flattened a palm on her head..
Swayam (in her ear, softly): Shhh.. Relax.. Calm down.. Please..
Sharon stopped hitting him but the tears didn't stop, though they were silent now.. Her hands that were first pounding on his back relaxed and held him tightly..
Swayam (guilty, in her ear): I know maine galti ki hai.. I'm sorry.. I'm really very sorry.. And I promise main ab sab theek kar dunga.. Please don't give up on me.. Please.. I'm sorry if I let you down.. Please.. Please just stay.. I love you Shar.. Main tumse bahut pyaar karta hoon.. Aur chahe kuch bhi ho.. Main tumhe khona nahi chahta.. Main tumhe nahi kho sakta.. Main janta hu tum bhi mujhse utna hi pyaar karti ho.. But please don't give up on us.. Please Shar..
Sharon dug her face in the crook of his neck and hugged him tighter.. A drop made its way down his eyes too.. He placed a deep kiss on her head promising her to get everything in place.. He kept massaging her head to relax her and in response he felt her nuzzling even more.. He knew she needed him the most at the moment and this time he wouldn't let her be..
He had a task in hand.. He had to make his family understand that what they did to Sharon was not acceptable.. Not that he had not tried to make them understand.. But he would just have to be a bit more firm.. If he has accepted Sharon the way she is, his family has no right to change her in any way.. He was quiet all this while thinking that at some point his family would understand.. But today Sharon herself talking about break-up' was an alarming sign that the family has gone a bit too far.. And in no way would he going to let her just go away from him because some of his family members think that she wasn't fit for Swayam.. But before solving the family thing, he had to make it a point that his girl was fine..
Sharon was just silently holding onto Swayam.. Her tears had stopped flowing with Swayam's comforting words.. She was just trying to get back her mental peace which seemed to have lost at the moment.. But at the same time she was lost in her thoughts.. 'Yes she was hurt.. She felt broken.. She had just expected Swayam to stand by her just like anyone would expect from their life partner to but according to he he didn't.. And that heart break lead her to think about the breakup.. Was she so convinced to breakup with him? Would she able to handle the pain after the breakup? Should she stick around with him just to avoid the pain ignoring the fact that his family doesn't respect her? Or should she just have some faith in him and give him the time he is asking for?' She was in a fix..but at the same time giving him sometime made more sense to her..
Swayam (softly): You ok?
Sharon was got out of her thought with his murmur in her ear.. She opened her eyes and stood straight breaking the hug.. She saw him looking at her with endless love.. concern.. hope.. guilt.. She kept looking in his eyes for a few more minutes and then broke the eye lock looking down while wiping the brimming tears.. She nodded lightly to his question..
Swayam saw her desperately looking for an answer in his eyes.. And when she looked down, he knew he would have to wait to see the same love in her eyes as well.. though right now they only showed how hurt.. disappointed.. and broken they were.. he saw her wipe her tears and raised his hand till her cheek wiping the stains with the back of his hand.. his other hand held hers by their side.. He was creasing her forehand with his thumb in an attempt to sooth her..
Swayam (creasing her face with the back of his fingers): Hey.. We're good na?
Sharon's head snapped up feeling the condemnation in his voice.. She was hurt but she didn't want him to feel that guilty.. to an extent that actually broke her too.. But she just kept looking at him.. numb.. She didn't know what should she say.. should she answer him or no? as she herself was confused.. Were they both good? Were things back to normal between them?
Swayam saw the inner turmoil she was facing through those eyes that spoke volumes to him.. but that confusion was a pang to him.. He would have to wait.. He would have to work to the level of getting a positive reply to this question.. He kept looking at her trying to read her much more clearer.. He gave her light squeeze when he saw her feeling helpless.. He didn't want to burden her with any more as she already was.. But he somewhere failed to hide his brimming eyes as it's always difficult to hide your true self from the person who knows you the best.. As soon as he saw concern flash through her eyes looking at his tears, he smiled weakly and give her a slight nod..
Swayam (cupping her face, softly): I love you.. you know that right?
Sharon kept looking at him intently and nodded lightly conveying her response through her eyes.. He smiled wider on getting her response.. A light smile appeared on her face looking at his.. He moved forward and placed a deep peck on her forehead promising to get his old Sharon back.. he looked back at her for another few moment before he left..
Swayam kept looking at her while retreating his steps backwards.. Both kept looking at each other intently.. After a few moments and after making sure that she was fine enough Swayam turned to leave..
Sharon (softly): Swayam..
Swayam turned back in a snap and looked at her..
Sharon (lightly smiling): I'll wait..
Swayam paused for a heartbeat and broke into a gorgeous smile..
Swayam: I won't be long..
Sharon gave him an answering smile.. Both knew it wasn't the end of them..
