Hey I am back!

Chapter 2

I saw her again the next day; she was sitting at the grassy side probably looking something, which I found myself answering in negative, as there was nothing worth seeing. So I went with the thought that she was deep in thought.

I fake coughed, so as to grab her attention. She looked towards me, gave me a blunt smile, and motioned me to sit next to her.

"You have never watched a movie, right?" I asked her.

"How do you know?!" She excitedly whispered.

"People rich enough to watch Bollywood don't live at a place like this"

"Hmmm, you got my lie!" She pouted and then winked back at me.

"But I need to know, how you knew that-"

"-that the hero and heroine shake hands when they befriend each other? I had a friend whose father was a sweeper at the cinema. He told me" She said, completing my incomplete thought.

"He was a he'??"

"Ya! Somebody burning??"

"I am not jealous"

"Okay-okay! I was joking!"

We then began talking. Seconds became minutes and minutes became hours. Soon I realized it was near to nightfall.

"You must go now. It's late." I ushered

"So what??"

"It is not safe for girls of your age to stay outside"

"How do you know my age?" she childishly demanded.

"You must be around my age, like 17-18 years..."

Suddenly she sprang up and came very close to my face. Leaning in she whispered in my ear.

"You cannot even imagine how old I am..."

I was taken aback. But was relieved when I heard her laugh.

"I was joking stupid!" she said between her giggles.

"And where the question of my safety lingers," she continued, "I know you will always be there to protect me."

Her face suddenly felt familiar. As if I knew her from ages. But I knew it was a myth that she seemed familiar, i had just met her yesterday, I thought as I looked at her. Her heavenly orbs gazing back at me suddenly felt too disgraceful to be called earthly. Well, it was disgraceful to call her earthly.

We kept staring at each other for hours. And then suddenly she broke our eye contact and began leaving.

"Hey!"

I took hold of her wrist in a swift motion and made her face me. Her eyes were stung with tears.

Hola People!

I don't know if many of you know but the rural areas of Afghanistan are actually very poor. And only the affluent people can afford a luxury like movies. Seems strange to hear, isn't it??
