St. Louis college was having its annual day preparations going on for which both swayam and sharon were given the responsibilities. They had to work day and night for it. Together! So all the personal problems had to take a rest but was it even possible when the person you love is sitting before you and staring you every moment of it! The days were getting tough for them as there had to be some moments when their past used to come and create havoc in their minds. Sharon refused her relationship infront of the whole college and immediately repented for it but that specific phase caused swayam to lose his faith in her forever. He was not angry anymore, just needed some push to forget and move on. He loved her more than anything in this world but was scared to take things forward.

It was late, everybody had gone. They were sitting in the canteen doing their work, heads down. Only the sound of clock could be heard in the whole cafetaria. Swayam was finding it hard to concentrate on budgeting, his head was struck on sharon, he slowly moved his eyes up to see her...slowly..slowly..very slowly...as he saw her...he caught her staring him back and they both immediately kept their heads down in a fit! Situation got weird. They were finding words to break the ice between them. Swayam decided to speak first--"Umm i have completed today's work...so i think.." TICK!
And the Lights went off. Swayam's mouth was left open to say more but he felt a strong pain...his hands were getting pinched, scratched by something, soon he realized that those were her nails. Sharon was scared of dark, generally most of the girls are but she had a phobia which was scaring the shit out of her mind. She immediately grabbed swayam's hand while sitting on the table.
Sharon--"Ss..Swayam..lights...what could have happened..." Swayam--"Relax sharon.. *and he kept his left hand on his right hand which was grabbed by her* calm down...i will find out" He smiled at her in assurance and she nodded. As he was about to go she shouted like a freak and hugged him tight, almost falling on him. Swayam had an alien expressions--"Sharon? What? Relax i am just Going.." Sharon--"Nooo! Shutup! Please kill him" Swayam--"What?? Kill? Whom? Have you gone crazy?" Sharon--"No! That...see that.." and she pointed towards a cockroach who was freely flaring his tentacles on the table. Swayam's mind got numb, he got a bit angry and then started laughing. Sharon--"You are laughing?? How dare you! Go and kill him!" Swayam--"First talk softly" swayam smirked. Sharon was surprised..but seeing the situation she gave in--"Okay fine...pleasee kill him!" and she made a puppy face. She looked like a baby asking for her toy. Swayam thought to drool later on it so he went and shooed that cockroach off the table and it went rolling in the dark. Sharon sighed and sat on the chair in tiredness. Swayam--"I am going on the terrace" Sharon got alert--"Terrace? Why?? Switchboard is here only right?" Swayam--"No my bag is lying there since afternoon, i need to bring it and then we have to go home too. Its late." Sharon--"Yes you are right we can can get this fixed tomorrow also. Um can i come with you...its dark here..." Swayam--"Sure" They walked together on the terrace, there was no light in the whole college, swayam took small steps amidst the silent corridor so that he could be with her. He took the bag and signalled her to leave. They were leaving the place when suddenly a fierce lightning shrieked out of the clouds..it created a shrilling sound. The thundering of the clouds frightened sharon and she immediately grabbed swayam's shirt. Swayam quickly turned to see her and it started raining within few seconds they both got fully drenched.
Swayam left the bag and slowly looked at her and got stuck in her beauty, water raining on her face, neck, lips rose the urge in him to kiss her. She looked even prettier. He can never deny the fact that he still loves her, these days have helped him to overcome their tormented past. He still fears the rejection but he has seen that sharon, silently crying through her eyes for him, begging him to be with her, asking sorry everytime and turning from diva to a simple girl, girl of her dreams. She was looking angelic and beautiful in rain, her simplicity could be seen through her eyes, her lips were shivering due to cold.
She had slowly withdrawn her hands off his shirt and now was standing far away from him. She loves him unconditionally and had tried every possible thing to make him feel that her heart beats only for him but constant denials from his side has left her soul in a mess. She will never try again as she don't have the power to see him walk away from her like the usual. Her whole body was teethering due to cold now. Swayam saw this and he immediately opened his check shirt and wrapped it around her. She felt his touch on her shoulder and her eyes met his brown orbs. They were standing very close to each other, an inch difference, their heartbeats got intense. Sharon was lost in his eyes, like forever. She was searching for love and in no time she found herself drowning in them. Swayam looked in her eyes, then at her lips and approached her slowly. Sharon was looking at him, she kept her hands on his chest and brought her face closer to him. Their faces glided in between and their foreheads met. The feeling of being so close to each other was making them weak. Sharon tightened the grip on his shirt and stopped him, swayam stared at her in surprise. She kept her hands on his chest and pushed herself away while saying--"I can't do this swayam..ab aur nahi..please..."
Swayam--"Sharon..."
Sharon--"I am sorry swayam..i am sorry" and she started sobbing and later fell on her knees. Swayam immediately kneeled down and cupped her cheeks--"Sharon please please mat ro..nhi dekh sakta tumhe aise..shhh don't cry" he removed few tears on her cheeks. Sharon--"Nahi swayam ab bahut ho gaya..please mat karo mere saath aisa..nahi handle hota mujhse..bahar se chaahe jitna bhi tough react karlu par damnit mujhe farak padta hai! Padta hai mujhe farak jab tum mere paas nahi hote ho, jab ek hi room mei hoke hum ek dusre ko avoid karte hai..bahut farak padta hai mujhe swayam *she starts crying hysterically*
Swayam was broken, his heart went out to her. He pulled her into a bone crashing hug and caressesed her back to calm her down. He broke the hug and cupped her face again--"Sharon please don't cry..i am sorry for behaving like this par sach toh yeh hai ki I love you! I love you sharon aur yeh sach koi nahi badal sakta..na yeh rejection na kuch. Mai bas dar raha tha ki kahin wapas khudko hurt na karlu kyunki ab mere mei itni himmat nahi hai sharon..nahi hai *his sobs could be heard whilst the raindrops*
Sharon--"Promise me swayam..tum mujhe khudse dur nahi jaane doge...chaahe mai kuch bhi kyu na karu..please swayam..i can't live without you anymore...i just realized that tumhara aur mera pyaar hum dono ko complete karta hai..we complete each other swayam..swayam ke bina sharon kuch nahi hai."
Swayam--"Aur sharon ki smile se swayam ki life hai" sharon instantly blushed and smiled hearing this, they sniffed together and hugged each other tightly, speaking of old times, teasing each other and much more.

An hour passed. It was still raining.
Sharon--"Swayam..."
Swayam *while playing with her fingers*--"Hmmm"
Sharon--"Um Raat ho gayi hai.."
Swayam--"Umm haan..lets go.."
They stood up. Both were stealing glances on each other as to say something.. Sharon--"Swayam stop" She stood before him and cutely came closer, slowly, while not looking at him. Swayam was having no idea on earth what was she upto, he was just looking at her with a confused expression. When the distance between them was nil, she looked at him and hesitantly snaked her left hand around his neck and with her right hand kept on his cheek she slowly brushed her lips on him. Swayam was at first was shocked at this move of hers but then gently he held her by her waist and cupped her chin in his strong hands. He kissed her lower lip with utmost sweetness, in reply sharon grabbed his wet hair and pulled them in excitement. Swayam slowly bit her lower lip to which she smiled and then gave in to him. Sparks flew between them, it clearly showed that they cared. With every passing second their kiss got deeper..sharon leaned her body closer to swayam's as she was shivering. Their kiss was full of passion and love. It showed their craving for each other and the intensity of their feelings towards them.
They broke apart after few minutes, breathing hard. Swayam looked at sharon and she blushed showing off her red tomato color cheeks, he took her in his embrace as it was their first kiss in the rain. The dark clouds paved their way for a silver lightning and the weather of St. Louis was back, slowly gazing at two people deeply in love, lost in each other arms.
