KriYaansh OS: The Proposal

"Kria, can't we just skip to the part where we hug because we love each other? Why are you making me do this? Can't you do it yourself?" Rey asked her, unhappy with Kria's stubbornness.

"No Reyaansh Singhania. I want it to be done the conventional way. You know the one where the guy proposes to the girl in a very romantic manner and asks her to be his girlfriend and the girl has tears in her eyes and says yes? The hug you want will come after you actually propose to me. Just because we confessed to each other doesn't mean we're dating and I won't hug you unless we're dating and I won't date you, unless you propose," she told him, taking a stand. He hadn't done it the first time either and Kria, being a girl had always wanted the perfect proposal and she was going to get it this time, by hook or by crook. Since Rey wasn't listening to her by hook, she decided to take the crooked way.

When Rey heard his full name, he knew she meant it so he decided he might as well propose but he didn't have any idea how to considering it was girls who came running to him' and not the other way around.

So he simply nodded and decided to ask the one person he knew will sure shot tell him the perfect way to propose.

After three 4-hour long four calls, one whole day of arrangements, Rey was finally ready to knock Kria off her feet.

The next day, Rey reached Kria's house at four in the morning and rang the bell continuously until she finally had to awake to see who that irritating person was who had awakened her at four.

"Rey, what the heck are you doing here?" she asked, followed by a yawn.

"Kria, this is for you," he said, giving her a toothbrush and toothpaste. He led her to her own washroom and indicated her to brush her teeth.

"Rey, wha-," Kria began but Rey quickly shoved her toothbrush into her mouth and made her brush her teeth.

While she was brushing her teeth, he switched on the heater and came out, locking Kria inside. He called out to her and said, "Call me when you're done with your bath, I'll give you your clothes." "Rey, what are you doing? Let me out, now!" Kria shouted from inside the bathroom, banging the door. "Kria, listen to me this one time. Trust me, nothing will happen." Rey told her in a soothing voice.

Kria, thinking Rey has planned something special was surprised to see her usual clothes on the bed when she came out. She quickly got dressed and went downstairs to be faced with the sight of Rey cooking her breakfast.

After breakfast, they both watched dance videos for some time and then left for college in Rey's car. In the car, they both fought for choice of songs but in the end settled for the same song.

On reaching the college, they headed to class, and then rehearsed, back to class, well, you get the gist. They had the same college routine as they usually had and then Rey told Kria that he would drop her so they went to Kria's house.

It was already night by the time they reached due to the rehearsals so they made dinner together on Rey's insistence.

While making dinner, Kria asked Rey, "What has gotten into you today Rey? You're helping me make food but you're still irritating me like you usually do. Are you fine?" "I'm perfectly fine Kria. I'm always like this, you just didn't know that," he replied with a charming smile.

"Uh-huh," Kria replied and went back to cooking the food.

After cooking for an hour, they both settled on the couch with their food and watched their favorite show, The Big Bang Theory'. Fighting, laughing, teasing and eating, they finally finished their food and washed up the dishes.

Just when Kria thought Rey's going to leave, he led Kria up to the terrace, asking her on the way, "How was your day today?" "I actually had fun though I woke up insanely early and I don't feel as tired as I usually do since you helped me with the household stuff." Kria replied.

On reaching the terrace, she saw it fully lit with yellow, blue, green, red and all other lights available. There was also a music player nearby, a box of chocolates and a jacket to be seen. "Rey, what is this?" Kria asked, completely startled and unable to think.

"I'm not an expert at these kinds of things since I've never done this before so I'm sorry if it doesn't keep up to your expectations," Rey began, putting on his jacket. He continued, "I know we've always fought a lot but the fact that we manage to come out of all those fights victorious says a lot. I may not be Romeo or Jack who will sacrifice their life but as long as I'm alive, I promise to protect you and take care of you and try my best not to hurt you. I said try because I tend to speak without thinking and I don't want to make false promises to you and not because I'll hurt you. I'm as imperfect as you get in a guy but for you, I strive to be perfect," and switched on the music player right behind him which began to play a very soft tune.

Rey went down on his knee and opened the box of chocolates, holding it out towards Kria, "If you were happy today and genuinely want that every day, I'm at your service though you might get hugs and kisses added with that. So Miss Kria Ghai, will you be my girlfriend and spend every day like today with me?" he asked. And as if it was second nature to her, Kria instantaneously replied, "Yes, yes, yes, I will. Is that even a question," and then took the chocolate box and bit it in half, giving the other half to Rey.

Rey hugged her tight and Kria hugged him back and they stayed there for some time until Kria started yawning.
