REVIEWS:
The discussion is purely on the topic of reviews. Nothing else!
Okay this post is purely for readers and writers and nothing to do with any of the fandoms.
SO I would request you all not to get the favoritism of any celebrity you are following, here. Please keep them out of this thread.
It's something purely and directly related to reviews of any update that we read.
PS: I don't want to hurt anyone's sentiments. It's purely my opinion! My perception.
*************
I had a talk with few of my friends - writers- who had shared the same views about the Reviews. But I am not here to put forward anything on anyone's behalf but to state my view over this entire issue.
Now since, clearing what the post is exactly meant for, I would like to draw some attention over the review pattern usually followed on IF. At least I find it HERE.
-Awesome, nice, amazing, brilliant, loved it.. so on and so forth are the words used for REVIEWS. In fact these things make the writer doubt whether people have really read it or not.
Well truly speaking, it nowhere stands near to the thing called review. I sometimes find people just commenting for the sake of getting rid of it or increasing their post counts. But what's the use of wasting your time when you really don't feel like reading it or commenting on it.
And of course, not to forget, the reserved comments which even after long-long ages later won't get unreserved. People kinda like irritating writers with their reserved comments. Well it's not that reserved comments are not to be posted but one should definitely remember to unreserve those comments.
Okay, let's put it straight, if one doesn't feel like reading something, just don't. Big Deal. I agree, at times people are at very good terms with the writer and they don't want their bond to get affected or maybe they don't want people to think about them in any negative sense. But what's the use of doing something which you don't feel like doing. Is there any reward that you get. Hell No! But not every reader is in good terms with all the writers. So you can cut off the unwanted writers. But please don't disrespect their effort by just commenting - something which is like commenting nothing.
The writer puts in some effort to present something readable to you all, I am sure you people would at least agree to this. There's no one who would just out of the blue kick their a** and start tying anything and everything they feel like. Even to write a few lines - like for example - even 4 lines a writer takes the effort of putting something sensible in those 4 lines. And in any case, if you can't even appreciate the efforts of the writer and put up a sensible review, there's no point in posting a comment then.
I even agree there are people who are really, actually busy. And considering that one might be excuse. I can even name a few, who instead of following a hectic schedule who do give proper Reviews, whenever and wherever possible. Than what's the problem with people who have all the time in the world to spam around - even I do that - but turn out to busy when it comes to review.
Even a one liner written with more actualized review can makes our day. There are people who just write the same old comment making writers doubt whether the excerpt was actually read or not.
Spamming is done on blatant basis but at the time of review everyone vanishes.. how bad does it feel for the person.. just think about that.
Let's see it through a writer's point of view. What the writer actually wants in the form of reviews?
That's very simple, just a few points or incidents to be highlighted that you have actually - genuinely liked about the particular update.
Point out where all do you think the writer could have improved and presented a better thing. Suggest, if possible, for things you feel can do better for the write-up and for the writer as well.
Criticism, until and unless polite, is always welcomed by the writer. Be sure you are not harsh with your words, you might end up hurting someone's feelings and I am sure you all don't want that.
A personalized comment. no matter how short it is *not the one word* but one which does make up a writer's day, understandable that there are few writers one favor over the other. Even I do that but just if you find the write up good give some appreciation it only boosts writer's mind instigating him or her to write more.
Now with this I don't mean that you all should do some analysis and come out with essays. No need of troubling yourself to that extent. But a small list of likes and dislikes' of the incidents in the update will do.
There are even people who increase the font size so as to make their comments look big enough but that doesn't increases the word count, does it? No!
Remember, it's the quality that matters and not the quantity.
If one cannot spare time to review an update they just can't expect the writer to waste their times. grow up! They are not sitting ideal. Even they have work to do!!
I know this particular Review thing is very much similar to the laws we learn in economics, based on certain assumptions and of course, not to forget has some exceptions as well. Assumptions- that the writer gives something sensible and puts in efforts for the same. Exceptions- No matter how much the writer screams or shouts or yells for that matter, there are a few readers who won't change their pattern of commenting.

PS: I didn't intend to hurt anyone in any manner. I apologize if I had done so or my words seemed to be harsh. I didn't want to sound rude, but that's how things have been throughout.
I would like your views over the same. See as readers you might justifications and your ideology about the same concept- maybe in a far different manner. And as writers - you all may have your opinions to share. And it would be great if people don't pin point each other.
All I would say is just share your thoughts about this topic. That's it.
Just hitting the like tab or saying 'agreed' won't really do. please speak up and spare some time to write what you actually feel.
