Why Sharon committed suicide? ?

Chapter 1

Karan walked out of the room and ridhima followed him.

"What happened, are you alright?" she questioned

"No, I'm not, ridzi first tell me how did she come to this hospital and your encounter with her, I need to know everything about her now." Karan asked

" okay fine, lets go to the canteen and talk and you need to tell me everything you know about her too, now don't ask how I know that you know her, I'm your wife and you whispered her name, am I right or am I rite?" ridhima said

Karan just smiled in return and they went and sat in the canteen.

"Okay, so where were we" asked ridhima

"You were going to tell me how Sharon was admitted here?"

"Yes of course, it was around 1:00pm that I got her case, it was an emergency and no one was available, so I took up the case. It soon became a nightmare."

"What happened next?"

"I saw her cuts on her wrist they were deep, but not enough to kill her, she is a tough nut. I revived her; put her on anaesthesia and sleeping pills.

She woke up after an hour and started screaming, the nurse paged me,

I went to her smiling and hoping to know more about her, I thought that she must have been a damsel in distress and normally such people are quite and shy. I wanted to make her understand the value of life but instead she made me want to suicide."

"Ridzi I need the detailed conversation."

"Okay fine, let me complete at least."

"Go on, it's urgent."

"I went inside the room; I saw her crying so I went close to her."

Flashback:

"Ms Raiprakash, I'm your doctor. How are you feeling now, I mean any do you feel pain or headache?" she asked.

"Do I look like I'm fine; do you even understand what you have done? All you care about is whether I'm having pain or any headache." Sharon screamed, sobbing in between.

"I do care; I want you alive, if you tell me your problem, I maybe able to help you." Said ridhima.

"You are my problem, who on earth asked you to save my life?" asked Sharon.

"The person who admitted you dear"

"And who is that person?"

"I don't know. All I know is that I needed to save your life and that is what I did. See dear, your life is extremely precious you should not end it like this." Ridhima said trying hard not to lose patience.

"I did not commit suicide to be saved by doctor who is trying to explain the importance of my life to Me." screamed an angered Sharon

"You are testing my patience now; I saved your life because I had taken an oath when I became a doctor that I will never refuse a patient."

"So you did not need to refuse me, you just should have let me die peacefully."

"Understand one thing woman, just because I'm listening to you, that does not give you any right to scream on. By the way, its all your fault, you don't even know how to suicide, who cuts their wrist for committing suicide, nobody even dies, they just create panic among their well wishers and loved ones. And my dear though your cut is deep it's of no use, it did nit even touch your vein, so basically even after staying without treatment you would have survived."

"But I heard it was an effective way."

"Who said." ridhima asked

"The internet, it said we would die in seconds without pain." Sharon said.

"What, so it's not hurting right now." ridhima asked smirking

"It very much is." Sharon innocently replied

"So your source is the internet, in which some mad suicide failure is giving tips to first time suicide attempters. And you surely know how much it hurts.

You should have tried a better way. Ridhima screamed.

"I thought it was non violent and I don't need to see much blood too, I tried okay, I'm not a pro at it okay." Sharon sobbed.

"I know your not but that just gives you more the reason not to do It." ridhima replied hoping that she convinced Sharon.

"No it doesn't I am not a coward I can do it." Sharon shouted

"Did I just motivate her to do this again? No, no, NO." ridhima thought.

"You know what..."

She took an injection and Sharon fainted the next second.

Flashback over.

"This is what happened."

"Here drink some water" karan said passing a glass of water to her.

She drank the whole glass and asked "what do you know about her?"

"She is the diva of St.louis College, the dazzling queen, the dancer etc. riches, style, attitude, good friends, a loving father, a lover boy, anything and everything."

"Then why did she commit suicide."

"I don't know, she was a strong person, she cannot be broken easily as you said she is a tough nut and Swayam, he won't let anything happen to her, he loves her so much."

"Probably someone said she is a coward so to prove them wrong she must have done it."

"No, it is not possible, no one can ever say anything to Sharon like that and if they do the Swayam will calm her down at any cost."

"Sorry to change the topic but where did you meet this girl?"

"I went to her college as a counselor, I was asked to erase the divide between girls and boys. When I went there I saw a spark between Swayam and Sharon. Swayam always loved Sharon and there were many others who liked People from the other group but could not unite due to the divide: the dazzlers and the weaklings. I don't know how they are now. And the best part is Sharon was the vice-captain of dazzlers while Swayam was the vice-captain of the weaklings."

"Oh my, no wonder." Ridhima said.

The next thing they heard was a pager.

"Karan it's a red pager from Sharon it's an emergency, let's go."

Saying this ridhima and karan ran to Sharon's ward.

They enter Sharon's ward and they see Sharon trying to breathe hard and is crying. They go next to her ridhima check her pulse and then suddenly pull her to the bathroom and hits her back, this makes Sharon vomit. Unable to bear with the sight, karan gets out of the room though he has seen a lot of this but he cannot see Sharon raiprakash, the diva like this.

Inside the ward Sharon is still having trouble breathing, so ridhima takes the inhaler on the table beside and tries to put it in her mouth, she resists it at first but later unable to take the force, the pain and the struggle, she finally gives up and uses the inhaler. She faints the next moment. Ridhima carefully places her correctly on the bed, cleans her, gives her an injection and comes out of the ward only to find a teary and sad karan.

She pats his shoulder and stands beside him. She hugs him in a consoling manner.

"She is fine for now but we need to keep her in observation for five days if matters get worse then I need to conduct a surgery, I gave her pain killers and another sleep medicine with increased dosage."

"How did this happen ridzi, nothing like this ever happened with your other patients, just a few minutes ago she was fine then how ridzi?"

"My other patients did not drink phenyl karan."

"She drank phenyl, how did you know?"

"She did not place the cap in its right place, I saw the opened phenyl bottle in the washroom and the cap in the table next to her bed and since she is asthmatic, more complications arose."

"She is asthmatic" he asked

"Yup"

"Want to speak to her" she asked

"Yup"

"Okay so let's go in before her wake up."

They go inside. Karan revives his memories about Sharon and St.louis. He remembers Sharon the diva. He sighs seeing her so devastated that she wants to die. They wait for an hour and finally she wakes up.

"Why did you save me again?"

"Why did you drink phenyl again?"

"Because you said cutting my wrist is of no use."

"Drinking phenyl is useless too, that too in a hospital."

"You did not tell that before,"

"I'm a doctor not a suicide fail to give you suggestions, I need to protect and save you, not sign your death agreement."

"ENOUGH both of you stop it."

"Both the ladies look at the source of the voice. A shocked Sharon just keeps staring at him and finally says "karan sir".
