As Swayam said, the person is not wrong, the whole situation is wrong. The gang are right on their part that Taani at the moment was being very selfish regarding Rey. But They actually are not able to understand her position and her helplessness. They do not know the real reason of Taani to request Rey to hide his true identity. They do not understand that if her Tauji finds out about Rey being a dancer, then he will send Taani back to Jodhpur. They do not understand the level of pain Swayam undergoes for choosing dance as a career. Bottom line is, they do not understand the kind of an emotional turmoil Taani is undergoing.
Taani is right on her part. It is natural for any person to feel insecure and vulnerable when he/she gets to know that the person's abilities are being questioned and that the whole world has already made an opinion about that person. Taani is going through exactly the same. The negative comments and the taunts from the other college students has made her like that. She is worried, sad and frustrated that her abilities are being questioned, which is making her behavior rude and weird towards the rest of the gang.
Also we got to know from the previous episodes that Taani is an orphan, and that Swayam's father has raised her as his own child. It is this fact that makes her feel that she cannot go against her own family. Also the fact that she is a witness to her Tauji's negative opinion about dance coz Swayam is being the victim of his harsh words. She does not want Rey to undergo the same kind of treatment so she became selfish for Rey as she loves him.
Coming to Rey, seeing today's episode, it is natural of him to question himself and his own words. For his Dil, he listened to Taani and almost did not make it to the elims today. Only when Swayam messaged him that his father had left, did he reach and gave a mind-blowing performance. But he also knows that dance had, is and will always remain his first love of life. He went into a self-assessment mode and started questioning his own decisions, coz both his loves i.e. Dance and Taani are important to him. And looking at the precap, I think he will now prioritize and then decide how much importance to give and whom to give, Taani and Dance.
But it does not change the fact that somewhere I felt that all this would end and that everything will be alright. I know it is gonna be alright, but the way Taani's character is being portrayed is what forcing me to have second thoughts about being positive. I might have written in other posts that with a broken heart I have moved on, But you know what?? I am still hoping coz I am dangling at the end of the thread...
