Today I won't be discussing the epi because I haven't seen it and won't bother đ I hear the CVs have hit a new low with their inconsistencies and character butchering is in full swing as per usual :P Today however, I just want to express my sadness at the state of Rey and Taani's relationship, and mostly highlighting Rey's behaviour.
As a typical TR phanka, I was watching old TR scenes on youtube, right from Rey and Taani's first meeting - up to confession. And I must be honest, pre confession wale Rey mein aur ab ke Rey mein bahut farak hai. The Rey prior to confession was the Rey that I could understand. I did not agree with the way he would hurt Taani and make her feel bad, but I understood his actions - you hurt those that you love the most. And even though his feelings were all over the place, his eyes always showed love for Taani.
But now when I look at Rey - I cannot understand him. He seems so different to me. Whenever he and Taani are together you can sense distances, friction, coldness. And the warmth, the desire that he once had for Taani seems to be missing from his eyes. He looks at her with empty eyes...he's simply staring right back at her. Why is that so...I don't quite understand.
Whatever issues some people may have with Taani, I think her love for Rey has remained the same. Her love has been consistent and unconditional. Sadly I cannot say the same for Rey. He is so charged up when it comes to his friends that he forgets who Taani actually is. Just because she has friction with his friends doesn't mean that he has to go against her. In times like this, diplomacy is the best option especially when either side involves a dear person (s).
To me Rey appears to be a bad decision maker, very indecisive and extremely impulsive. Acting on impulse can be good at times but there are moments which need a cool and collective thought process. And on that basis his recent handling of Taani has been rather disappointing. All relationships go through difficult times, agreed. And you can't always have candy floss moments. But it is times like these when love between two individuals is tested.
Barring one occasion (that too when Swayam called him over) Rey hasn't been there for Taani. He hasn't shown signs of a loyal or comforting boyfriend. He has been worried about Sharon, shown concern for Swayam, thought about the gang - but Taani has been absent from his list of thoughts. Quite sad, really. His lack of care and affection for her has led me to rethink my views on Rey. What does Taani really mean to him?
The guy needs to remember that he was the one who had initially rejected Taani, and she swallowed her tears and took many steps back. She did not stalk him (contrary to what many at this forum have said) she moved back the very moment he blasted her. But then what happened after that was for all to see. Rey was the one that took many steps towards Taani. He felt good whenever she was close by, felt jealous when Shivam posed as Taani's boyfriend, and was in pieces when he wrongly believed that she felt nothing for him. Rey needs to be reminded that the very girl he is ignoring today is the one that he once fought for. He fought with himself, damnit!
Do I sound too emotional? Perhaps đ Maybe it'a a girl thing, I don't know! But I feel really bad for Taani right now and I feel very annoyed with Rey. He's forgotten so much in such a short span of time, it's unbelievable. Has he settled with Taani simply becoming his girlfriend? Was it all just a formality? Because it sure as hell seems that way. When you're truly, madly, deeply in love with someone - you never stop caring for them. Even when there are differences...your love can never be indifferent.
