SRK Enters Billionaire Club
The smell of fresh coffee and donuts hit me as soon as I entered the small coffee shop. It always amazed me with its simplicity and warmth, the old rustic brown walls and the wooden furniture welcomed every stranger and the yellow tinted bulbs lit up the place in just the right amount. The sun had settled in its den and the stars - well, even though they were lost in between the dazzling lights of the city - were still there somewhere.
"Hey doll! Hurry up!" Coming out of my moment of admiration I looked over to the highly active petite girl in black pants, red t-shirt and a black cap. She hurriedly waved her hands and signaled me to get going. I smiled lightly and made my way to the back of the Cafe.
I came out wearing my skinny black pants and a red t-shirt that hung loosely over my hips. As soon as I stepped near the cashier I was bombarded with orders.
"Small latte with extra cream"
"Medium expresso with two cream and one sugar"
"Can I have the chocolate chip cookies with green tea"
"How about you make it two teas please"
The customers rambled on; demanding, changing and yelling out their order. Nine o'clock was definitely one of the dreaded hours of the day. Surprised aren't you? Don't be. This was one of the busiest time of the day because people would come for pleasantries and good night snacks after having their supper. But soon the customers reduced and I was able to catch a breath from punching in orders and packaging the small items.
"Finally the elephant stampede is over," I giggled at my colleagues personification, "here, have a coffee. You must be tired." She handed me my favourite cup of French Vanilla.
"Thanks Roma. I don't know how I would survive working here without you."
"Not at all accepting your thank you. Remember one thing doll: I do this for myself not for you. When people around me are happy, I'm happy."
I smiled at her and she gave me a light hug before retrieving back to the cafe kitchen.
"Sir! I am so sorry! Wait, here I will take the coffee and you can clean up in the restroom."
I saw another one of my colleagues apologizing, she tried to cover a spill with many tissues. She caught my eye and asked me to remake the similar order. I reassured her and got to work.
This customer was the rare picky kind, he had an order that went weird and complicated like this, " Double ristretto venti nonfat organic chocolate browned frappuccino, extra hot with foam and whipped cream. Upside down double blended."
As I mashed and mixed I wondered how can people remember so much. For me coffee was coffee with just a few addition of milk, cream and sugar.
"Thanks a ton my sweet little munchkin! If you hadn't helped I was surely going to get beat up from Keerti madam today." The green eyed shuddered as she thought of our manager (who wasn't here today but she still kept an eye on everything even if absent).
"Shilpa. Calm down, and by the way why are you so scared of her. She's only human, she can't do much to you."
" You must be mental to think that. She's a witch in disguise! Like that blood sucking vampire from that Twilight movie. She's anything but human." I shook my head at her insane imagination and made my way to the man whose frappuccino had spilled. Quickly without looking I held out my hand to give him the order.
He took a while to take the cup but then he gently grabbed onto the cup, slightly grazing his extremely warm fingers on the back of my freezing hand. I retorted without even looking and started talking with Shilpa and Roma.
Ching! Chin!
I heard the chimes on the door go off after 10 mins and I finally looked up to see if a new customer had arrived. But, all I saw was the stranger with the frappuccino walking out with his back to the glass door. The breeze hit him as soon as he went out and his white shirt ruffled slightly. He rolled up the sleeves of the formal shirt and ran his hand through his hair before placing them back in his black pants and walking about to his car.
"Doll!" I jumped as Roma yelled in my ears. "Time to close, come on. Chop chop."
"Shippu!My juliet!"
"Yes Romu!My one and only Romeo!"
"Want to ditch that Armaan of yours and go out with me?"
"Aw. My poor majnu but its okay. I can ditch him once in a while"
I laughed at the duo's playfulness and turned to shut off the lights,"Goodnight Mumbai"
I know this one was a short update but that was because I had no clue as to how you all would react and even if you would like to read or not. So, please please please comment, like and suggest.

Part 2: The Meeting
I was tired. Dance rehearsals and college events were taking a toll on my already worn out body. It had been a month since I had gotten proper time to rest and take some time off for myself. But, today I was going to relax and just pamper myself. It was evening; the sun was almost near the horizon making it the perfect weather to go for a walk.
I strolled through the streets while taking in the cool fresh air and letting all my muscles loose. As I reached the corner of the small street I recognized that smell of freshly brewed coffee. I chuckled as I remembered the last time I had been here. It was quiet some entertainment. I stepped in hoping to get myself a cold cappuccino. I took a seat at the corner of the vintage caf and looked to see if someone was attending to me.
I tried calling out noticing that there was no one on the counter, as I waved my hand on one side a body slammed into it.
"Ouch!"
I turned to see a beautiful hazel eyed girl furrowing her eyebrows while wincing in pain.
"I am so sorry! Actually I was trying to get the employees attention and I'Il '." I mumbled off as she stood there and simply stared at me.
Her face felt like a magnet. It held simplicity yet some kind of uniqueness to it. She seemed amused at my antics and smiled.
"It's okay. By the way, next time you'd like someone's attention there is that tiny bell provided on your table," she pointed to the small bell at my table and I flushed out of embarrassment.
"I am sorry," she acknowledged my apology then walked to the side corridor. Thinking that she walked to the restrooms I sat down and quickly fixed myself. I then rang the bell hoping to quickly order something for myself and for the lady, hoping to spend more time with her when she came back.
When the waitress came, I quickly ordered without looking up from the menu. I waited for the lady to come back, I was becoming impatient and I knew why. I had taken a liking of her. The way she held her posture and spoke with confidence was admirable.
"Sir, your order," a voice chirped. I quickly retorted thanks and looked up.
My mouth hung open as I saw the same lady dressed in work uniform handing me my order. She smiled and chuckled.
"You work here?"
"Yes. I do."
We stayed quiet for some time; she turned around with a little hesitation to go, "Hey! Wait. If you don't mind do you want to have coffee with me? I mean no one is here anyway." I prayed to god that she would say yes.
"Urrmmm'okay."
She smiled and sat in front of me.
"So, how come I haven't seen you around? I come here all the time to grab something or the other," I asked hoping to start a conversation.
"I know you do," she replied. I looked at her stunned, how does she even know me?! I have never seen her before!
"I mean how can I forget someone who orders such a picky order'.hhmmm'what was it'.oh yes'Double ristretto venti nonfat organic chocolate browned frappuccino, extra hot with foam and whipped cream. Upside down double blended," I chuckled while she laughed. I was picky indeed.
"Well, I have to say I am a creature of habit." I looked into her eyes and she stared into mine with the same intensity. I wanted to wrap her in my arms and just feel her.
"I wouldn't mind making you a habit," she winked before standing up and laughingly walking off. It took me some time to realize just what had happened. But, when I did comprehend it all I smiled the biggest smile ever and looked over to her with joy.
I grabbed my wallet and went up to the counter to pay.
"I am Reyansh, by the way." I told her as I handed over the cash. Her hand lingered on mine for some time before she broke away.
"Vedika."
"You might want to think again Vedika, I am a dancer. It's hard to keep up with me."
"Don't worry Reyansh, I know how to keep up with the rhythm," she winked, once again leaving me speechless with the hidden meanings behind those words.
I laughed out loud as I walked out of the cafe feeling pure joy after what felt like eternity.
THE END
