Fidelity
"Love you Swayam..." She kissed him on the cheek as he left for work. But that morning, there was something strange, something was certainly not right. He had just left without saying something, didn't even close the main door behind him.
'Must be some project...' She murmured to herself as she cleaned their breakfast plates. Finally after wrapping up the kitchen work she went up to their bedroom on the first floor of their spacious duplex apartment. She smiled shaking her head at her husband's habit. Even though he had done everything to keep out of her way, he never realized there would everything left for her to do - like hanging the wet towel to dry that he left on the wall hook, putting his dirty clothes in the laundry basket that he left bundled up on the bed, thankfully he always kept his desk arranged. Only if he was so vocal about his love and care like he had been up till a few weeks back.
As she picked up the laundry basket she realized that the chair of his desk had been pulled out, as if he had hurriedly finished some work on the desk before she had called him for breakfast. And he had been, she realized as she saw a sole envelope lying in the middle of the desk. She kept the laundry basket down and picked up the envelope. Her face broke out in a crimson blush when she read "Dear Wifey" written on the top of the envelope. She let out a chuckle at the apparent name he had given her after their marriage. He used it so often that at times she had to coax her real name out of his mouth when they'd be alone. As she looked back at the envelope a thought struck her. Had he written her a love letter? She wondered, her heard thundering in her chest threatening to leap out as she hurriedly opened the letter.
Dearest Darling,
You've been a companion and a friend to me for a very long time. You've been my better half to me, certainly the way better one. All these years, you've always known just what to say whenever I'm lonely or sad or when I'm just being bothersome. And I'm sure past days you've been thinking something has been troubling me. Factually, you've never been more correct.
There's someone I want to tell you about. Someone I'm in love with. It's not that I've not tried telling you everything on my own. And each time I've failed miserably. She has been telling me to talk to her about what's bothering me, just like you've been. But it's something I wanted to figure out on my own. Yeah she knows about you. In our relationship, we're everything but dishonest. And it isn't that I fell out of love with you and found solace in someone else. She has been in my life forever, as long as I could remember. I was in love with her before our marriage and even after that. You must be wondering why I haven't told you about that before, why after so many years. Truth is I've not been just in love with her all along; I've been with her all this time too.
She's an amazing girl, beautiful. Well that even you are. However, hers is an angelic innocent mesmerizing beauty. If she had been a kid I would wish she had been ours. But well if that had been the situation, I wouldn't have had to write this letter to you, only if...
She is the best and closest friend I'd say I have. She understands me like no one else. She's been with me through everything. And I wonder if things would've been the way they are only if I could've told you about her on our wedding night. But well that's another one of my 'only if's.
I know you want to know who she is. And yes I'll tell you her name, because after all this, you deserve to know.
She didn't realize when she had sat down on the bed in hysteric sobs, her tears making it hard for her to read. She didn't want to turn to the other side of the page to read the name of her home wrecker. But she wanted to know who was the lucky one who was getting all the love of the best man in the world. She clutched the paper in her hands and screamed as she fell down on the ground next to the bed.
To Be Continued...
No this is not where this OS ends. And yes I know this is an OS so it's not too long to be divided into two parts, but believe me it was needed. I'll be posting the end by tonight positively.
Till then...
Firstly:

This is the song that inspired this story. The song has more of a ABAB rhyme scheme type music that's a lot like a lullaby. At times I put it on repeat when it's one of the insomnia nights. So you'll have to put a tad bit of concentration more. The lyrics are beautiful, and only when you listen closely to the lyrics you'll know how it ended up as this story.
Secondly:
I want all of you to think which one out of the two girls is Sharon. The wife or the girl Swayam's having an affair with. And what would the other girl's impact be on Sharon, I mean if Sharon's other girl, how much will Swayam being married to someone else affect her and vice versa.
And before you begin to take out oyur pitchforks, jhadoos and kolhapuris... I'll say wait for the end of it.
I'll be updating the original end of my SS (Falling for the Beast) by tonight too, so stay tuned.
Thanks for all the love people,
Pree.
P.S. I've heard it's easier to bear the loss of someone when you know that they're being remembered by many. I just lost an Aunt, very close to me today morning. I won't say i'm sad. She's gone to a better place, at least better for her. She was battling multiple lethal diseases since past couple of years and it's more like being put out of misery in her case if nothing else. But i'd wish you all send her your wishes and regards, doesn't take more than a minute. It'll maybe reassure her that she won't be forgotten, since she didn't have any immediate family other than my father who was a cousin... Thanks.
P.P.S. The End: Pg 3
