Nothing dil dosti about it

The makers of the popular youth-based dance show, Dil Dosti Dance on Channel V, are a hassled lot these days. And the reason for their quandary is not the show's TRP, but the quitting spree that's hit the serial.
Dance India Dance winner Shakti Mohan was the first to call it off. The dancer-turned-actress has claimed that her decision to quit the show is because of a training opportunity in London, but sources have a different tale to tell. According to their version, Shakti who plays the lead in the serial was dissatisfied with her role, which did not turn out to be as meaty as that of Sneha's. In fact, what made it even worse was Sneha's role being extended. An ignored Shakti finally gave an ultimatum to the director stating, "If my role is not happening, then I will quit the show." And she finally did. Post which, two new faces have already auditioned for the role of Kriya (earlier played by Shakti), but no one has been finalised as yet.
When confronted, a politically correct Shakti says, "I have decided to quit the show because I am going abroad for some specific training." She also denies that her quitting has anything to do with the length of the role. However, Shakti isn't the only member of the cast leaving the show. Buzz is that Kunwar Amar too is planning to throw in the towel. The actor vehemently denies this though, "No, I am not quitting. I guess these are all rumours. Shakti is planning to leave because she is going on some training, or so I believe," says Amar.
However, our sources insist that all this quitting is taking place because of Palki Malhotra, Fiction Head, Cinevistas. Palki, it seems, has a history of playing favourites. Earlier, she was close to Karan Grover. The next victim was Amar and now Palki enjoys Shantanu's company. Adds a source, "Palki even goes to drop him home and then picks him up in the morning. They also go together for movies and dinner."
While Palki remained unavailable for comment, Shantanu refused to say anything.
